Rajesh Purushothaman is a senior identity and security engineering leader with extensive experience architecting cloud-native, zero-trust, and distributed systems. He has spearheaded initiatives in cryptographic modernization, adaptive access controls, and enterprise identity fabric integration. A Distinguished Fellow of the Soft Computing Research Society (SCRS) and Fellow of IETE, Rajesh is committed to advancing secure digital ecosystems while mentoring the next generation of security professionals.I am Rajesh Purushothaman, a senior identity and security engineering leader with extensive experience architecting cloud-native, zero-trust, and large-scale distributed systems across enterprise environments. Over my career, I have driven critical initiatives in secure identity management, cryptographic modernization, and adaptive access platforms—helping global organizations transition to resilient, standards-based security ecosystems. I am passionate about advancing the future of secure infrastructure by blending deep technical expertise with mentoring and industry collaboration.
I am a Distinguished Fellow of the Soft Computing Research Society (SCRS), a Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), and an active contributor to the global security community. I have served as a judge for the Globee Awards in Technology and Cybersecurity, reviewed technical submissions for leading venues, and published practitioner insights on identity, cloud security, and the future of authentication. My external engagements, combined with enterprise leadership roles, reflect my commitment to shaping both the practice and the profession of security engineering.
Chosen criteria based on my professional experience
Rajesh has led the design and delivery of enterprise-scale security services at Oracle and Zscaler, including SCIM-based provisioning, contextual access platforms, and distributed identity services. His responsibilities have included defining architecture roadmaps, embedding OWASP practices, and ensuring compliance across mission-critical platforms.
Rajesh has mentored more than dozen engineers over two years, many of whom have progressed into senior and staff engineering roles. He developed structured learning paths, organized study circles on cloud-native security, and guided engineers in delivering large-scale projects such as IDCS tenant migration and Zscaler’s contextual access platform. His mentorship has fostered a sustainable culture of coaching and professional growth.
Rajesh has advised internal teams, global security engineering units, and academic institutions on secure systems design. He has supported curriculum development for cybersecurity modules and contributed to industry panels and awards programs. His consultancy work emphasizes aligning modern identity protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, SCIM) with enterprise requirements for resilience and scalability.
