About Me
Rajeev Sahay [CV]
Assistant Teaching Professor
Electrical and Computer Engineering
UC San Diego
I am an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC San Diego (check out this excellent FAQ page created by a fellow UCSD teaching professor for more insights on what it means to be a teaching professor in the University of California system). I received my Ph.D. and M.S. in 2022 and 2021, respectively, from the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, and I received my B.S. in 2018 from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Utah.
My teaching expereinces and interests are quite extensive, encompassing data science, machine learning, analog circuits, computer architecture, and programming languages in C, C++, and Python. My teaching has also spanned a wide range of students including high school students, pre-college students, undergraduates, and graduate students. I am extremely passionate about the art of teaching, and I enjoy crafting each course I teach to its desired audience and student skill level to maximize student learning.
Beyond teaching, I am also active in research. My research interests lie in the intersection of machine learning and networking with applications in education and wireless communications. In the former, I am interested in developing machine learning approaches to promote social learning and personalized learning within and across classrooms and institutions while simultaneously preserving and protecting the privacy of student data. In the latter, I am interested in exploring the vulnerabilities of next-generation machine learning-based communications and developing robust signal processing algorithms capable of operating in hostile, crowded, and adversarial environments.
