Outreach & Teaching

Position: Intern (Jan 2023 - Jul 2024)

Mentor: Dr Debarati Chatterjee, Associate Professor, Chair of LI-EPO.

During my internship at LI-EPO, I was responsible for developing models and posters for outreach purposes. Additionally, I actively participated in various "tech fests" across the country. I also took on the role of designing and teaching Python to college students from Hingoli (LIGO-India site) and contributed to organizing a Teacher Training Workshop for educators in and around the LIGO-India site. Position: Teaching Assistant (August 2024 – October 2024)

As a teaching assistant, I taught Physics to 12th-grade students, including topics such as Ray Optics, Wave Optics, and Optical Instruments. Also taught Mathematics to 11th graders, including topics such as linear Inequalities, Permutation and Combinations, and the Binomial Theorem. In addition to teaching, I designed questions, solved students' doubts and prepared lecture summaries. To ensure concept clarity I often used small experiments to explain topics such as total internal reflection, diffraction and double slit experiment. 

Position: Volunteer (2022 - May 2024)

I participated in stargazing events, where I operated telescopes and led unaided stargazing sessions for school students and general public. Volunteered to operate telescopes at the “International Observe the Moon Night” an initiative of NASA. 

Position: Research Head and Co-founder (October 2021 – July 2023)

As a club, we organised guest lectures, stargazing nights, awareness programs for schools, space-themed MUNs and posted infographic content on social media. Our efforts were recognised, and our club was given the prestigious title of “Registered Space Tutors of ISRO” by CBPO, ISRO. As a club, we built an 8-inch Newtonian Telescope and obtained funding from Pune University to construct the telescope.
