Rajat was born and raised in the hustling-bustling city of Kolkata in India. He has a love and interest for many different things in life, which includes Music, Photography, Computers and Biology! Awesome mix of interests, right?

Academic and Professional

Though he struggled to pursue the first two expensive interests in the beginning, Rajat always tried to play around with the remainder two of them. His interest in Biology made him a Microbiologist by academic training. But his interest towards computers led him to take a giant leap...

Rajat has a PhD in Biochemistry from The City University of New York but his focus is Computational Chemistry ( Yes, that is the giant leap from Microbiology to a whole new subject). He worked with a great man , Emilio Gallicchio at Brooklyn College, studying protein-ligand binding for drug-discovery using Computer-Aided Drug Design strategies and molecular simulations.

After completing academic life, Rajat acquired extensive experience in working in drug-discovery and pharmaceutical companies.

Rajat has published in many different journals publishing high impact research projects. All his publications are listed here.

Interests

While at New York, Rajat met a creative group of people, folks who love to watch the night sky and capture its beauty, an interest that he had since childhood. Rajat was always fascinated by the beauty and vastness of the universe and so gave it a chance to nurture his passion to capture the vastness of the universe through lens. He is greatly inspired by these creative mind of Stan Honda and other great members of the AAA who introduced him to enjoy this nocturnal beauty with a new perspective.

Now, he in turn, inspired his wife, who already is a landscape photography enthusiast, and they both travel together in search of pristine and clear skies!!
