For luxury holidays, Rajasthan tourism has a decent number of heritage hotels that along with offering incredible hospitality to all its guests also cater to the fantasies of honeymoon couples. There are several ways that you can experience both luxury and royal hospitality in Rajasthan. One of these is taking a ride on the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels Train where you can sink into relaxing massage session; sample spicy Rajasthani cuisine in restaurant and bar-cum-lounge; relaxing stay in twin-bedded chambers with attached bathrooms and pampering session in the well-furnished salon, while enjoying the pretty view of the desert rolling by.

Rajasthan also offers numerous opportunities for enjoying several adventure tourism sports activities. Some of the adventure hotspots in the state are Jaipur, Pushkar, Bharatpur and Jaisalmer. In Bharatpur, you can enjoy different types of adventure activities like zip lining, quake walk and rope course.

These awards are recognition of Rajasthan Tourism's on-going efforts to make Rajasthan one of the most favoured destinations of choice for tourists around the world and these awards are also a testimony to Rajasthan's tourism friendly policy initiatives.

Rajasthan Tourism is an agency under the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan. While Department of Tourism implements national and state level policies, programmes and also acts as a coordinating agency for the Central - State Government Department/Offices and Private sectors activities for promotion of tourism in the state, Rajasthan Tourism is responsible for promoting tourism and culture of the state. Rajasthan was declared among the top two states for comprehensive development of tourism industry in the National Tourism Awards 2017. Rajasthan Tourism has also produced the award winning campaign called Jaane Kya Dikh Jaaye.

Ogilvy has created a new logo and a multimedia ad campaign titled 'Jaane Kya Dikh Jaaye' for Rajasthan Tourism, for which Rajasthan Government has earmarked over Rs 100 crore. The campaign marks the state's return to tourism marketing after 25 years

Despite some of the best tourist attractions, the state's lack of tourism marketing over the last quarter of a century as compared to its neighbouring states, has resulted in a sharp dip in the number of international tourists (its share has fallen from 33 per cent of international travellers to 20 per cent), as well as domestic tourists (the state gets half of Madhya Pradesh's 63 million domestic tourists). This is not only a missed opportunity in terms of attracting international tourists, but for economic growth as well.

The twelfth edition of the Great Indian Travel Bazaar to be held here from April 23 to 25, will offer new tourism opportunities and attractions to tour operators coming from different countries. The promotional mart is being organised after a gap of three years, when it was halted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to the famous tiger sightings in Ranthambore, leopard sanctuaries are also being developed in Rajasthan. The Chambal river safari for sighting ghariyals is also being promoted as the state strives to add variety to its tourism experience.

After a three-year break due to the pandemic, experts, tour operators and hoteliers from the travel trade have come together for what is considered tourism's biggest travel fair. 280 foreign tour operators from over 50 countries participated in the travel fair this year.

Gayatri Rathor, Secretary Tourism of Rajasthan said, "We are organising GITB after 3 years. We want to bring the arrival of foreign tourists back to pre-covid levels. In March, four lakh foreign tourists came to Rajasthan. Pre-Covid we used to have 14-15 lakh foreign tourists. Domestic tourism has also increased by 102%."

While domestic tourism has kept the economy going, a foreign traveler is promising for the industry. Foreign tourists' behaviour pattern is such that he or she will hire a cab, book a taxi and also work with travel agents rather than booking holidays online.

Rajasthan's tourism ranking has gone up from 11th to 7th spot on national and international scales for 2023, all thanks to the intelligent tourism policies. One of the prime policies of the authoritie...

With the total number of COVID-19 positive cases around the world reaching a whopping 7.5 Lakhs and a constant daily increase in these numbers, coronavirus is bleeding the tourism sector; and Rajasthan tourism is no exception to this. Considering the outspread of coronavirus in Rajasthan, several travellers from all across the world have cancelled their bookings or are in the process of cancelling.

During this time of the year, cities in Rajasthan such as Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Bikaner used to be brimming with tourists from all across the world. But considering the rise of coronavirus in Rajasthan and cancellation of visas by the government, travelling to Rajasthan or any other part of the country has been restricted. Apart from coronavirus, Rajasthan tourism saw a huge downfall because of several reasons, including:-

To top this downfall, the coronavirus pandemic outspread has taken the entire world by storm. With the total number of positive cases of coronavirus in Rajasthan reaching up to 69, the state government of Rajasthan clearly has its hands full in dealing with this menace. On one hand, the government has been trying to ensure that the outspread is contained while on the other, they are also concerned about the fall of the tourism sector of the state, following the shutdown of airlines and railways.

Various sectors in Rajasthan, especially the hotel, food, jewellery, handloom and handicraft industries depend heavily on the arrival of tourists from various parts of the world. But, amidst this nation-wide lockdown, the travel and tourism industry is taking the biggest hit. Several historical places of Jaipur, Udaipur, Bikaner, etc. that used to be a tourist hub, including the Amer Fort, Lake Pichola, Mehrangarh Fort, Bikaner Fort, etc. have been ghosted due to the coronavirus scare.

Rajasthan, being one of the most visited places in India is witnessing a massive downfall in terms of travel and tourism. Amidst the 21 days lockdown, the entire economy is suffering huge losses. But, with government planning and several initiatives being put into motion especially for the daily wagers, hopefully, after the lockdown, the economy will slowly pick up the pace and Rajasthan tourism will be up and running in no time.

Rajasthan as the magical destination comes across different from eye to eye, giving new meanings and shapes to their own perceptions of the same place.

The richness of culture and tradition here has withstood sands of time untouched by the many eras of change.

Experts feel that cheetahs are a new attraction in the country and if their translocation is successful, it will develop a new circuit in the region surrounding Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan. The entry point of Kuno-Palpur National Park (KPNP), is just 100 kilometers from Rajasthan's tiger tourism hub Ranthambore and also the nearest railway junction is Sawai Madhopur.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has constituted the task force for monitoring cheetah introduction at Kuno and other designated areas. It will take the call on when to open up the cheetah habitat for eco-tourism and suggest regulations in this regard. It will advise on development of tourism infrastructure in the fringe areas of Kuno and other protected areas.
