I am an aspiring coastal modeler, with a keen interest in learning more about practical aspects of coastal processes, modeling, and hazard & management. I defended my Ph.D thesis titled “Shoreline change and coastal vulnerability considering projected climate” from IIT Bombay, on 23rd Feb 2019. The overall objective of my research was to initiate a framework to assess the effect of climate change on nearshore processes and coastal morphology under changing climate scenarios. The thesis acts as a guide to coastal planners and port authorities. The study thus fills the gap of the projected climate rather than the past one in planning for the regional coastal ecosystem and the necessity to use projected met-ocean and socio-economic futuristic information to assess the coastal vulnerability. I want to expand my research towards solving coastal chronic hazards such as erosion and flooding and analyzing community adaptive capacity.
I have been in hands-on coastal modeling since 2013.
