Rainbow Preschool was established in September 1986 by Suzanne Evans, current director, and Charlotte Bear. The preschool operates in affiliation with Nokesville Church of the Brethren. 

Program

Our program at Rainbow Preschool focuses on the total development of your child. Learning, socialization, and fun are all included in our program.  The curriculum is based on weekly themes. Daily activities include free play, music, circle time, stories, projects, snack, as well as indoor and outdoor large muscle play. A wide variety of art, science, and math opportunities are incorporated into our projects and activities. We use the Learning Without Tears curriculum and Scholastic Magazines throughout the year. 

We promote the development of skills such as sharing, listening, and following directions to prepare your child for kindergarten.  Above all, we hope to make your child's first school experience a happy and positive one. 

Hours

School hours are from 8:45-11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday. Options for enrollment include two mornings per week, three mornings per week, or five mornings per week for the four-year old program only. 

We follow the Prince William County Schools  for snow days and holidays. If the public schools have a late opening, we will open on time. 

Suzie Evans, Director and Teacher 

Ms. Suzie founded Rainbow Preschool in 1986. She has a bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development from Virginia Tech. 

Tina Ringer, Teacher

Ms. Tina joined Rainbow Preschool in 2014. She has been a teacher and director for community after-school programs. Her studies include business at Strayer University. 

Amie Dean, Teacher

Ms. Amie joined Rainbow Preschool in 2018. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and has taught at various schools with experience teaching preschool, kindergarten, and 2nd  grade. 

Melissa Ross, Teaching Assistant 

Ms. Melissa joined Rainbow Preschool in 2020. She has an associates degree in Early Childhood Development and certificate in early childhood development career studies. In addition to being the assistant director at a before and after school daycare, she is the owner of Kidz Fit cheerleading company based out of The Nokesville School for children from kindergarten to 8th grade. 

Becky DeForest, Teaching Assistant

Ms. Becky joined Rainbow Preschool in 2022. Prior to starting at Rainbow Preschool, she operated her own in-home daycare and preschool for over 20-years. 

All Rainbow Preschool's staff members complete a regular background check per Virginia Department of Education requirements. 

Rainbow Preschool's maximum staff to student ratio is 1:10.
