This program is designed for children between 1.5 years to 2.5 years of age. We encourage children to develop unique skills, interests, and strengths by introducing them to various activities that include puppet shows, cartoon shows, sand play, coloring, scribbling, etc.We also have activities like fancy dress, field trips, and festival celebrations and encourage our children to actively participate in these programs.

The beginning:
Rainbow school started in 1984, by Mrs. Asha Raja. 30 years back there were not enough schools offering child suitable education. She realized that there were not enough schools for children providing much needed facility for learning while enjoying to learn. Thus, there was a humble beginning of the school which today holds the pride of training thousands of children many of who often drop-in to meet their favorite teachers.
Today: The Guiding principles-
After three decades of service in the field of child education the school today holds a place of pride in its field. Still based on the founding principles of providing education to children in simple yet effective way, the school emphasizes inculcating values of discipline, hard work, economical living, love and harmony among all living beings.
The Curriculum:
Rainbow follows a very unique curriculum in syllabus incorporating most modern play way methods of childhood education based on the new thoughts developed in the area of child development, besides incorporating Montessori methods of teaching. It provides latest educational facilities and incorporates various activities to foster all round growth of a child.
1. Rainbow teaches every subject by integrating all five senses, e.g. While teaching fruits we use charts (seeing & hearing), use models (hearing, seeing, touching), make fruit salad and while learning and singing rhymes about fruits and then eating it too (tasting, touching, hearing, seeing, smelling). In this manner children learn and remember all fruits with their names, taste, colors and smell. The lesson is followed by coloring pictures of fruits that are then stuck in their scrape books. In this way they never forget the fruits and the memorable experience while learning about them.
2. Rainbow follows ‘Learn while you play’ method to teach children English language, phonetics, mathematics and general knowledge.
3. Rainbow encourages motor activities for total muscular development of children. Regular physical activities like climbing, running, swinging, games and sports ensure healthy body.
4. Rainbow initiates children into learning 3-R’s – Reading, Writing & ’Rithmatic using most modern educational techniques.
5. Rainbow includes learning about development of perceptions- e.g. far, near, long, short, up, down, under, above etc. besides perceptions of senses like sight, smell, hearing, tasting, touching
6. Rainbow provides activities suitable for the growth of I.Q. & E.Q.
7. Rainbow helps children to develop self-esteem, confidence and sense of belonging by including special subjects like self development and self-awareness in its syllabus.
8. Rainbow gives importance to G.K. acquisition of its children. Library time, story-telling with acting, picture reading form very interesting activities.
9. Rainbow organizes regular field trips. Visits to the zoo, toy shop, markets, book store, going for a bus ride, boat ride are some of the treats that children remember for a long long time in their life.
10. Rainbow explains meanings of nursery rhymes through interaction. Suitable activity explaining the subject of the rhyme is carried out in the class for the children to understand its meaning clearly and remember it easily. E.g. the rhyme ‘I am a tea-pot’ is incorporated with actually making of tea in a tea-pot in the class by the teachers. Also children are given toy tea sets to play with, thus encouraging imaginary social play. The special rhymes related to animals, fruits, vegetables, sizes, colors, and other concepts are taught and acted out to make the subjects interesting, memorable and clearly understood.
11. Rainbow permits free play and expressions through activities like drawing, art, craft, mask-making, acting, swimming, sliding, rocking and dancing.
12. Rainbow audio-visual aids like T.V., DVD, Music systems etc. help children to learn and enjoy cartoon films, music, dance and rhymes, numbers and alphabets through them.
13. Rainbow introduces children to computers in a subtle way that brings out the natural curiosity among children, wanting to learn more.
14. Rainbow offers regular feedback to highly respected parents about their child’s progress by arranging regular Parent-teacher meetings. Individual child’s progress is discussed.
15. Rainbow counseling and help is offered to parents for high school admissions of their children.
16. Rainbow uniform is smart yellow and brown checked uni-sex style romper that is one piece dress worn with a shirt.
