Support for Children and Parents

End-of-life planning for a beloved pet can be overwhelming and an end-of-life doula fills the gap in support for those navigating the transition over the rainbow bridge. Celebration of life ceremonies can be especially helpful for children who are experiencing the loss of a pet for the first time and may be struggling to understand what is happening.

Planning and Officiant Support

Many people plan their own bucket lists or celebration of life ceremonies for elderly pets or those with a terminal diagnosis. However, pet owners are often overwhelmed with emotion during this difficult time and may not have the bandwidth to plan and facilitate a ceremony themselves. That's where a professional officiant can step in to create a supportive space so the pet owner is free to focus on celebrating their beloved companion.

Unexpected Loss and Closure

Sometimes pets pass away unexpectedly with no opportunity to prepare or do all of their favorite things before they transition over the Rainbow Bridge. I offer grief support for those who need a compassionate space to process sudden transitions. A celebration of life ceremony can help provide closure and ease the transition for families.

Professional Training in End-of-Life Support

As a companion animal end-of-life doula with training from the International End-of-Life Care Association, I have specialized experience, training, and tools to guide families and individuals through these difficult transitions.

1. Free 20-minute consultation 

Discuss availability and scheduling, ask questions, and determine which service is right for you. 

2. Intake Questionnaire 

After payment, I will send an intake form to learn more about the pet and their family members, including questions about their favorite treats, toys, and memories to personalize the ceremony. 

3.  Final Planning Call

We’ll review the ceremony plan, recommendations for preparing a space in your home, and address any questions about what to expect. Ceremonies are non-denominational, but I’m happy to accommodate reasonable requests for specific cultural or spiritual practices. 

4. Golden Package or In-Person Package Logistics

Rainbow Bridge Transitions will handle the details—sending e-vites, and reminders to guests, or coordinating other logistics before the ceremony.   

5. Ceremony Day 

The officiant will open the Celebration of Life Ceremony with customized remarks on your pet before inviting family and friends to share their favorite memories. Gentle music, readings, rituals, and guided conversations can also be included, as discussed during the intake and planning stages, before a gentle closing.
