Axminster is where The Railway Kitchen began in April 2022.
This site was designed as a relaxed, welcoming dine-in and Takeaway experience — somewhere customers can take their time, meet friends, and enjoy freshly prepared food in a comfortable setting.

Here you’ll find:

• Hearty cooked breakfasts and lighter options

• Traditional favourites and daily specials

• Fresh coffee, locally made Cakes, and lunches worth lingering over

• A friendly, community-focused atmosphere

It’s a place to pause, catch up, and enjoy the moment — not just eat and leave.

FAQs

When are you open?

We are open Monday - Saturday from 7:30AM -15:00PM and Sunday from 8:30AM - 14.00PM. 

Do you serve breakfast? 

We serve breakfast and hot food until 20 minuets before closing. 

Do you cater for Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free 

Yes, We have a selection of Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten free options. We are also happy adapt the menu.

Do you have outside Seating?

Yes - we have 5 tables on the platform for you to watch the world go by. The seating area is a non-smoking and non-vaping area as it forms part of the railway station premises.

Are Dogs Welcome?

Well behaved dogs are very welcome! Inside and Outside. We have a water bowl available. 

Do you do Takeaway?

Yes - We are able to do our whole menu and drinks menu to takeaway. 

Toilets

Public toilets, including a disability accessible toilet, are available on the platform during Station Opening Hours. 

Parking

There is pay and display parking adjacent to the station which has disability access parking spaces.

Do you have wheelchair access

Sadly due to the design of the building there is two steps into the cafe so it is not accessable for wheelchairs.
