Research Synopsis

Our research group currently focuses on the application of nanotechnology in biomedical engineering. Several challenges addressing the application of nanomaterials and tissue engineering are being studied and addressed. Some of the broad topics our group works on are listed here.

• Inorganic nanomaterials, polymeric, and liposome systems for treating cancer and infectious diseases

• Bio-inspired materials

  • 4D printed patch to treat peripheral nerve injuries

  • 3D printed bio-mimicking patch for treating damaged tympanic membrane

• Developing novel bioinks for 3D bioprinting and tissue engineering applications

• Engineered materials for theranostics - nanomaterials  (e.g., CuS-Au) for photothermal therapy and photoacoustic imaging

• Microneedle patches for controlled delivery of therpeutics
