Mr. Rahool Rai was honored with the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, enabling him to complete a semester at Frederick University Cyprus. This recognition highlights his dedication, passion for learning, and commitment to academic excellence.
During his time as an undergraduate exchange student at Frederick University, Mr. Rai embraced opportunities to collaborate, grow, and engage with a diverse academic community. He became an active member of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), where he played a vital role in assisting new exchange students in navigating accommodation challenges, academic requirements, and collaborative opportunities.
As part of his contributions to ESN, Mr. Rai organized various events, including cultural trips, movie nights, and language exchange sessions, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for students from different backgrounds. This experience not only enhanced his leadership and organizational skills but also demonstrated his ability to thrive in international and multicultural settings.
During his time at Frederick University, he actively engaged in research under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Varnavas Serghides, focusing on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). During his exchange semester at Frederick University, Cyprus, Mr. Rahool Rai explored his passion for photography by enrolling in an elective course. This opportunity allowed him to participate in a prestigious international photography competition titled “Intercultural Dialogue from the Point of View of Youth.” The Ministry of Youth and Sport and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan organized the competition as part of the 7th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Out of approximately 900 participants from 97 countries, Mr. Rahool Rai emerged as one of the third-place winners, becoming the sole representative from Pakistan and Asia to receive this honor. His photograph celebrated the themes of cultural diversity, tolerance, and mutual understanding, which were central to the competition's purpose.
As a third-place winner, Mr. Rai was awarded $500 and a fully funded trip to Baku, Azerbaijan, where he attended the award ceremony and represented Pakistan on the global stage. As part of the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme Phase-IV & V, Mr. Rai was selected to receive a laptop in recognition of his academic achievements. The laptop was presented to him during the distribution ceremony on May 5, 2018 at SUKKUR IBA University. This recognition not only supported his academic endeavors but also motivated him to continue striving for excellence in my studies and future career.
