California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) will host the 2nd Annual CSU 3D-Printed Fixed-Wing Aircraft Competition (C-3DPAC) on May 18, 2024, at its Jesse Owens Track and Field Complex on campus.
As the 1st team from Louisiana to compete in this Fixed-Wing aircraft competition, we plan to show up and conquer the competitors. Us students from University of Louisiana at Lafayette want to show the state of California the we do things differently down here in Cajun Country.
We have done extensive research and have began printing with all of our resources to work out any imperfections within our preliminary design. We plan to have multiple iterations of our first aircraft to ensure perfection in our design, manufacturing, and electronics.
We are mainly printing with 4 PRUSA i3 MK3S+ (19.6in x 21.6in x 15.7in bed size) and plan to use PolyMaker Poly-Lite Pre-Foamed Lightweight Polylactic Acid Filament. We are printing this plane in multiple sections and are actively trying to permanently fasten the pieces together with blue-light cured resin and integrated quick connections.
