Md. Rafiqul Islam is a highly motivated and enthusiastic academic staff member in the Department of Anatomy and Histology at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), with extensive teaching and research experience. He is also a certified veterinarian, accredited by the Bangladesh Veterinary Council (BVC). His research focuses on poultry immunonutrition, feed additives, muscle biology, meat science, gut health, and immunity. As an anatomist, he is also an expert in tissue preservation techniques such as plastination.
Before joining the current faculty position, he worked as a research assistant on multiple research projects at BAU from 2020 to 2022. He obtained both his MS in Anatomy and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He has approximately five years of poultry-related research experience.
Throughout his academic and research career, he has received several prestigious scholarships and awards, including the Chancellor's Gold Medal Award, the National Science and Technology Fellowship (Bangladesh), and the BAU Publication Grant Award. He has published multiple articles in reputed national and international high-impact journals such as Poultry Science and Animal Nutrition. He currently serves as a reviewer for journals including Poultry Science, BMC Veterinary Research, and Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology.
