About Me
I am a PSU (Profesor Sustituto Universitario) at the Department of Applied Mathematics of the University of Málaga.
I have obtained a PhD from the University of Málaga, under the supervision of Antonio Viruel and Cristina Costoya, with an FCT pre-doctoral grant. Before that, I obtained my Bachelor's and Masters' degrees from Instituto Superior Técnico. My masters' thesis advisor was Gustavo Granja.
My research interests lie within algebraic topology and focuses mainly on equivariant topology, combinatorial topology, as well as (equivariant) rational homotopy theory and higher algebraic structures.
Most of the problems I have addressed belong to a class of problems known as realizability problems. We consider some algebraic structure and aim at interpreting it as some meaningful topological invariant. For example, we have shown that every group action of a finite group on a finitely presented group is the action of the group of self-homotopy equivalences of a space on one of its homotopy groups.
In rational homotopy theory, I often work with the Maurer-Cartan functor of L-infinity algebras and how it behaves in the equivariant setting.
