Radio Mukilteo is a group of licensed amateur radio operators who are members of Snohomish County Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS) and provide emergency radio communications support to the City of Mukilteo. Members are registered State Emergency Workers and Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (RACES) operators.
Snohomish County ACS is affiliated with the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES®) and is the single contact for emergency communications at the county level. Served agencies include Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management, member cities, fire districts, county hospitals, and the Everett office of the American Red Cross.
We support the City’s emergency radio voice and data communications needs by staffing its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) radio room at City Hall, its Alternate EOC radio room in the Public Works building, and providing mobile communications throughout the City as needed.
We operate amateur VHF/UHF and other radios to provide voice communications and also send and receive data traffic mainly using the Winlink Global Radio Email® system.
Radio Mukilteo participates in a weekly emergency communications net to test equipment readiness and operator training.
We also take part in quarterly state-wide EOC-to-EOC communications exercises and other periodic regional and state-wide emergency preparedness exercises.
We operate using our club call sign: WA7MUK
