Radiocene, formerly 'Origin of Kaiju', is an ongoing  speculative evolution and worldbuilding project of mine focused on reimagining monsters seen in both the Godzilla and King Kong franchises in a biologically plausible manner.

This project takes place on an alternate Earth biosphere very similar to our own with all but a few major deviations. One of the most notable features of this world is the presence of interconnected cave systems, called the Hollow Earth Tunnels (HET), that shield numerous species from the dangers of the outside world, creating an entirely unique and vast underground ecosystem in the process. 

An equally important feature of this world is the upbringing of radionuclides into the top layers of Earth. The presence of this material has remarkably caused various plant species to become radiotrophic, capable of thriving even in the darkness of the Hollow Earth Tunnels.
