About Us

Radio Jaago 90.4 FM, Hardoi's first and only community radio station, is an initiative of the Shiv Shankar Development Society (SSDS) that brings local voices to the forefront. Broadcasting across the district, it inspires social change through storytelling, cultural programming, and public awareness campaigns. With a motto of "progress through participation," Radio Jaago connects communities, celebrates local identity, and empowers citizens to be active contributors to development.

Established in 2001, SSDS is a grassroots organisation dedicated to inclusive development in Uttar Pradesh. With a wide spectrum of work - ranging from health and environment to women's empowerment, legal aid, mental health, and cultural preservation - SSDS blends innovation with community spirit. From bio-fuel awareness to disaster relief, and street plays to memorial-building, SSDS continues to serve as a catalyst for social change and citizen empowerment across Hardoi and beyond. The idea of setting up a community radio station is a step towards SSDS' motto of "progress through participation".
