Hello! I’m Krishna Kant Gupta. I did my doctoral studies from Department of Bioinformatics, Pondicherry University in 2019. I have been working as research scientist in SASTRA University since 2019. Currently I am working on project entitled “Understanding the virus nuclear pore complex cross talk using computational and structural biological approaches”. My scientific interest includes drug discovery, Virus proteins, Oncogenes, structural biology, targeted therapies, virtual screening. My hobby includes mentoring, night science podcast, hiking, exploring cuisines and lab parties!
Technical Officer A
Hello, Myself Virashree! I am working in Lab of MMAD since January 2015 as a Lab technician. I have done M.Sc. Biochemistry from University of Mumbai & my work experience lies in cell culture, molecular biology, protein purification etc. In Lab of MMAD, I support scientific research by taking care of overall management of laboratory consumables & equipment. Besides, I also take part in experimental work of various projects of the laboratory. Currently I am working on Interaction & Structural studies of HIV integrase & human nucleoporins. I am an avid nature lover & keenly interested in ecology. Being an amateur nature photographer, I like to explore Ecosystems & Biodiversity around that also includes traditional art & wisdom. I find my solace in painting, dancing & writing.
6th year PhD student
I entered the NCCS-PhD Program in August 2019.Since then it was no less than a roller-coaster ride filled with loads of excitement and curiosity. Here I got the opportunity to fathom the Nuclear Pore Complex machinery and dynamics of nucleoporins via Nup155-Nup93 complex. This program not only extended my professional boundaries but also enriched my personal growth and interest in form of extracurricular activities like- swimming, painting, dancing, trekking and many more!
5th year PhD student
Hi, I’m a post-graduate in Biotechnology from KAU, Kerala. I joined Dr Radha’s lab in July 2021. I am interested in understanding the role of scaffold Nups in Nuclear Pore Complex assembly via biochemistry, cell biology and structural biology techniques. I’m an artist at heart, love sketching, painting, crafts and calligraphy. I like to spend my free time reading fiction, listening to music, gardening, and talking to my buddies.

Hi! My name is Bheem Singh Bhandari, I graduated and am post-graduated from Government Raj Rishi College which is in my hometown of Alwar, Rajasthan. My research interest is investigating the structure and function of the Nup88 sub-complex of the mammalian Nuclear pore complex. My hobbies are comedy, drama, and mimicry.
3rd year PhD student
I obtained my master's degree in microbiology from Burdwan University. My research interests are focused on Biophysics and Structural Biology. I joined the lab of MMAD at NCCS in March 2023. In my leisure time, I enjoy listening to instrumental music and reading bengali novels.
2nd year PhD student
I completed my Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology from the University of Jammu. Subsequently, I pursued a Master of Science degree in Zoology at the same institution. My academic journey was further enriched by securing qualifications in the Joint CSIR-UGC NET JRF exam twice and the DBT BET JRF Category 1 exam, as well as the GATE and JKSET examinations. Currently, I am engaged in doctoral research where I am investigating the role of NUP93 in elucidating the dynamics of the nuclear pore complex. Beyond my academic pursuits, I find solace and enjoyment in listening to music during my leisure time.
1st year PhD student
I have done my Masters from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan in Botany. My interest lies in Protein Biochemistry and Structural Biology. I joined the lab in August 2024. I’ve just started to explore the world of NPC. I like to read novels and mystery stories as well as roaming around nature.
