HeartRate
The Wear OS companion app reads heart rate data to display current and recent pulse information to the user.
This lets the app show how hard the user is working during exercise sessions and provides a more meaningful activity overview.
The data is used only for in-app presentation and local activity summaries, not shared outside the app.
StepsCadence / Steps
Step count is required so the app can show activity and movement performance in the wearable interface.
Cadence/steps support tracking and comparison of movement during sessions and help the app provide a useful activity summary.
This is a core feature of the wearable experience, enabling the app to reflect real activity data rather than only manual input.
HealthData - Background
Background read access is needed to refresh the wearable app’s data while the watch is not actively in the foreground.
This allows the app to keep step count and heart rate displays up to date when the user opens the app or uses the watch companion.
It is used only to read the latest permitted health information for the app’s own user-facing features, not for continuous monitoring or external sharing.
User benefit
The requested data types are used to improve the Wear OS experience by providing:
more accurate activity summaries,
relevant heart rate feedback,
up-to-date step metrics,
a responsive wearable UI that reflects actual user activity.
Important note
All health data access is conditional on the user explicitly granting permission when using the Wear OS app.
The app only reads data for the stated functionality and does not use it for unrelated purposes.

I will respond and delete any stored personal information associated with your use of the app.
If you withdraw permission, the app will stop accessing the requested health data.
