Racing Kings Academy

Welcome to the official site of the Racing Kings Academy! This is your place to learn more about racing kings; from opening theory to endgame tactics and middlegame strategy, we are working on it all! For now, this study is the place to be with the references list in chapter two, but I'm already working on a more complete list of resources on this website.

In addition to that, you can find all the rules and information about the Racing Kings World Championships on this website.
These double elimination tournaments, often referred to as "Racing Kings WC" or simply "RKWC", are held annually from June to September and are being hosted on lichess.org. Details about the upcoming 2021 edition will be published on our team forum. The rules for 2021 are still a subject of discussion, but they will be published here in May 2021.

What is racing kings? What is this site about?

Racing kings is a chess variant, the vast majority of its players being assembled on the free and open-source chess server called lichess - though the variant has recently also been added on chess.com. A link to the rules of racing kings can be found here. Due to the very low popularity of this variant it is mainly played online, though we hope that international over-the-board events will take place one day. Though you can play the variant anonymously on lichess, we highly recommend that you create an account if you don't have one already.

This website is a creation by RoyalManiac.
I initially created this site in 2019 to host the rules and information for the 2019 Racing Kings WC. Since spring 2021 it also serves as a platform to collect educational content about racing kings and to connect players from around the world through their passion for the variant. Our community activities are focused around our lichess team and my twitch and youtube channels.
