Yes! The Racial Justice Poetry Contest is open to students receiving their education in Baltimore County, regardless of where you live.
The Racial Justice Poetry Contest is open only to students who attend school in Baltimore County. We expect to grow in coming years - please check back! In the meantime, we encourage you to explore other organizations that support the spoken word art, such as DewMore Baltimore.
The Racial Justice Poetry Contest is open to students in grades 6 through 12 receiving their education in Baltimore County.
Yes! Any 6th through 12th grader receiving their education in Baltimore County is welcome to apply.
You may submit your original poetry HERE. All entries are due by 11:59pm on March 1, 2024---the 2024 contest is closed. Please check back this fall for 2025 Contest information.
A first place and second place entry will be selected from the following three divisions: Grades 6-8, Grades 9-10, and Grades 11-12. We look forward to receiving your original work.

Awesome that you like to write poetry! However, the Racial Justice Poetry Contest is limited to one entry per student.
We believe that every person who writes and submits a poem is a winner. An announcement of the top place finishers was made on April 8, 2024 via email to a parent/guardian, on this website, and on Instagram @racial_justice_poetry.
