Racial Healing Book Group

An Opportunity to Learn about Racial Healing sponsored by people from St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, Dahlonega, Georgia.

The death of George Floyd at the hands of an officer from the Minneapolis Police Department has sparked a movement in our nation seeking racial healing. Yet many people are uninformed about the different perspectives people about racial healing, nor are well versed in the experience of black people in our country. This book group is meant to provide a safe forum where we can talk about these issues. We will most likely not all agree, and we will raise uncomfortable issues, but we will work to being part of the healing of our nation.

We are a group of parishioners from St. Elizabeth’s, and we are sponsoring this book group to enable people to be better informed. We have chosen four books, including volume of essays edited by Dr. Catherine Meeks that contains spiritual persepctives.

Each month we will discuss a different book.

Reading the book is strongly suggested, but we are designing the group so that there will be opportunity for those who have not read the book.
