Throughout this project, my partner and I conducted an analysis, comparing the universal healthcare system of Germany with the American healthcare system, characterized by a blend of public and private healthcare providers. Our examination of the utilization of these healthcare systems shed light on the systemic healthcare challenges which each nation faces individually. My research partner and I presented our poster at the 2022 University of South Florida Undergraduate Research Conference.
Patient Centered Care (NUR 3026) Served as a course which teaches the fundamentals of patient care in nursing. In this course, I worked in a group project which focused on cultural considerations which influence patient care for patients who are Cuban Immigrants or Cuban Americans. Through this project, my group explored common cultural practices, prominent barriers to effective patient care, prominent diseases, and actions which nurses should take when caring for members of this population.
Fun Fact: Cuban sandwiches were not created in Cuba! They were actually created by Cuban American Immigrants in Tampa and Key West.
