I interned at the McLaughlin Lab for two months over the summer of 2024. I engaged in cool research on the potential of tirzepatide for weight loss, metabolic health improvement, and reversal of lipotoxicity (inflammation caused by fat cells). Made some fun stickers to reflect on the great learning experience I had!

The Multisizer machine measures the size distribution of biopsied fat cells, which can reflect someone's health / inflammatory status.
Happy, healthy fat is fat that has the capacity for storage. (Counterintuitive, right?) We want the fat to store things well, or else it might leak inflammatory substances that disrupt normal metabolic processes.
