Teaching Goals

Plan

• • I will engage in topic discussions once monthly and journal clubs at least three times over the year with students on APPE rotations and provide patient case examples to help emulate real-life situations. I will include at least one activity (game, polling option, Kahoot!, etc.) during each large group presentation to evaluate learner’s participation. And I will work in small groups to help promote discussions in a more relaxed manner.

Contingency Plan

• • Observe experienced presenters to learn from their various teaching styles

  • Practice presentation with my mentor to receive feedback on areas for improvement

• • I will present journal clubs, topic discussions, help with recitation, and provide individual learning for students on rotation for small groups and I will present Grand Rounds in the fall and spring as well as one lecture to UAMS or Harding Pharmacy students for large groups.

Contingency Plan

• • If I am unable to deliver a lecture at UAMS or Harding University, I will seek out other opportunities such as delivering an in-service or continuing education to a large group.

  • Develop evaluations to assess my ability to present and improve on my current skills.

• • I will develop evaluations to assess student’s presentations skills and or work, give feedback to students throughout recitation in the Fall, and provide weekly feedback to my APPE student while precepting.
