Minor Research Projects
Topics are classified into 3 themes, centered in Trustworthy AI and Explainable AI (XAI).
Theme 1: Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (KRR), such as:
Description Logic, ontology, and knowledge graph
Argumentation and explanation from proof system
Theme 2: Machine Learning (ML), such as:
Explainability of ML algorithms and post-hoc analysis for blackbox ML models
Fairness and bias problems in ML applications
Theme 3: Integration of KRR and ML, such as:
Argument mining, representing an intersection of argumentation and ML
Knowledge graph embedding, representing an intersection of knowledge graph and ML
Neural-symbolic learning, which covers all fields that combines KRR and ML
To do minor research, please select one of the themes and an option mentioned in the following
[If you like coding] You will read papers and try to reproduce their experiments.
You can find available source codes on the internet or write your own from scratch[If you like reading] You will survey many papers according to your theme.
You will keep updating progress to show your understanding and exchange opinions.[If you'd like to design your own way] You can discuss what you would like to do for the selected theme.
We will plan for a project that matches your interest and achieve it together.
At the end of each option, you will give a presentation to summarize your study.
If you are still passionated about your success, we can discuss on your topic and plan for a publication.
