Managed by Bal Bhagwan Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Ahmedpur
Welcome to the Department of Rachana Sharir, an essential pillar of Ayurvedic education at Dhanwantari Ayurved Medical College & Charitable Hospital, Udgir. We take pride in being the foundational science that supports the understanding of human anatomy through the lens of ancient Indian wisdom.
Our department is dedicated to cultivating a deep appreciation for the structural understanding of the human body, integrating both classical Ayurvedic and modern anatomical knowledge.
Rachana Sharir is the Ayurvedic study of human anatomy, including bones (asthi), muscles (mamsa), vessels (sira), joints (sandhi), marmas (vital points), and embryology (garbha sharir). It forms the scientific base of all clinical and surgical practices in Ayurveda.
Our curriculum is aligned with the NCISM guidelines and includes:
Detailed dissection-based practicals
Osteology and museum-based learning
Embryology models and charts
Marma Sharir and clinical relevance
We aim to foster clarity and confidence in students for their future roles as Ayurvedic practitioners and surgeons.
