The Art of Language through Hands
On October 19, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Balintawak, in partnership with the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan, hosted “Project IDEA Year 3 Session 2” at the Rotary Center in Quezon City. This event was a memorable occasion, sponsored by Portmag PH and in collaboration with My Children’s House of Hope.
The objective of Project IDEA Year 3 Session 2 was to train the partnered clubs in basic sign language, enabling them to teach youth in the upcoming session. Participants learned various sign languages beyond simple greetings like “Hello” and “Hi.” This experience was significant for the club, as it helped raise awareness for the Deaf community. MP Ivan Amador, the club’s president, engaged enthusiastically, experimenting with different ways to communicate his name through sign language to enhance clarity.
The lessons covered words, phrases, numbers, and simple sentences. Participants also explored expressing sign language through songs, which made the learning process enjoyable. The event concluded on a high note, with attendees excited about the wealth of knowledge they had gained.
It would be wonderful to see Rotaractors incorporate sign language in their materials for future events, such as the Rotaract Song and other innovative initiatives. This would open new avenues for community engagement and strengthen connections with the Deaf community.

Driving safely is the best approach.
On October 12, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Constitution Hill-Bagong Sandigan, conducted a Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) in collaboration with the LTO Manila and Quezon City at Dr. Alejandro Albert Elementary School in Sampaloc, Manila.
The project aims to assist 350 senior high school students and teachers interested in taking the Theoretical Driving Course. This initiative provides them with essential knowledge about traffic rules and regulations, proper driving techniques, and important information for becoming competent drivers.
Mr. Gerald Mamanao, from LTO NCR, served as the TDC instructor and presented various topics, including motor vehicle registration, driver's licensing, law enforcement and ticketing protocol, and adjudication. He also discussed the relationships between other agencies, such as DOTr and LTFRB. Additionally, he elaborated on Republic Act No. 4136, which is the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, providing detailed examples to help the audience visualize the concepts. This thorough overview aimed to give students, teachers, and aspiring drivers a comprehensive understanding of driving, law enforcement, and compliance.
A highlight of the event was the Rotary Club's sponsorship of five students from the top fifteen on the TDC Examination, scheduled for October 19, 2024, covering their medical examination and printing fees. The Rotaract Club assists in distributing snacks and lunch for all attendees, as well as the personnel who assisted in the event and the speaker, promoting meaningful discussions and motivation.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable driving experience, it's crucial to learn the fundamentals and apply what we've learned. Prioritizing safe driving is essential.

On September 28, 2024, District 3780 organized a community fun run at the University of the Philippines—Diliman Oval. The run aimed to promote fellowship among the clubs and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
The idea for the community run came from District Rotaract Representative Excelsis Angel Ilagan, who envisioned it as an opportunity for the club presidents to experience jogging, running, walking, and having fun at UP-Diliman, promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan participated in the community run with MP Ivan Amador, IPP Carlos Requino, and Rtr. Marlo Cepeda is representing the club. They engaged with fellow Rotaractors and completed 2-3 laps around the UP Oval. Despite the temptation of food at the event, the club performed well in the fun run.
Promoting a healthy lifestyle is a top priority, and the community run provided many Rotaractors with the opportunity to start living healthier lives.

The Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan held its monthly meeting on September 26, 2024, via Google Meet. The members were thrilled to have a meeting again despite their busy schedules.
During the meeting, the club showcased the accomplishments made for the months of August and September and provided updates for the upcoming month of October. One of the main topics discussed was the well-being of the members, with a check-in to ensure that each member is doing well in life, school, and within the club.
The meeting felt like a small gathering, even though it was held online. In addition to the wellness check, the club also discussed upcoming events and other potential activities. There were also adjustments made to club dues and fundraising activities. The club aims to have more active participation from members in the coming months, with a focus on sharing knowledge, wisdom, and experiences within the club.

On September 15, the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan attended the 1st District Meeting of Rotaract District 3780. The club was represented by MP Ivan Amador, VP Rachellem Lopez, Professional Service Chair Sean Vargas, Rtr. Camina Zuñiga, and IPP Carlos.
The district meeting covered various topics, including updates on district activities and upcoming programs. The meeting also shared data on the number of clubs and members in the district. Additionally, the top 10 clubs with the best District Rotaract Representative Visit were revealed, with further details to be disclosed in DISCON 2025. Region 5 was recognized as the leading region, having submitted 6 reports.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed international service events scheduled for this year and the next, such as ISDA, PROCON, and APRRC. The club aims to have a representative participate in these events to gain new insights and knowledge.
Following the meeting, a fellowship took place, where clubs enjoyed games and performances, fostering a spirit of fellowship through service. The 1st District Meeting concluded with excitement for the future activities and initiatives in the upcoming term.

On August 24, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan participated in the "Unleash the Magic: Rotary Public Image Seminar and Workshop" hosted by the Rotary Club of QC Big Bike Riders at the Global Lounge, Rotary Center, Quezon City. This event focused on the importance of public image and introduced the guidelines for the term.
Representatives from the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan and the Interact Club of Judge Feliciano Belmonte Sr. High School, MP Ivan Amador and MP Angel Solidum represented MP Lyn Adrino of the Rotary Club of Constitution Hill-Bagong Sandigan. They learned about implementing the new rules and regulations in creating publication materials for their respective clubs.
During the seminar, the participants gained insights from three speakers. PDG Pastor “Mar” Reyes Jr. discussed the significance of sharing our Rotary projects and their impact on communities. Ian Simbulan, an executive producer of GMA Public Affairs, highlighted the relevance of mainstream media in today's digital age, drawing from his experiences covering stories like Super Typhoon Yolanda. He also shared key points for creating documentaries. Alex Castro, a social media and digital manager of GMA Public Affairs, emphasized the importance of social media storytelling and its impact on brand identity, providing strategies to increase engagement on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
The seminar and workshop provided valuable information to enhance the clubs' public image and improve their social media presence. This knowledge will help in creating more engaging and informative content to connect with a wider audience.

On August 23, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan held a membership orientation for new members via Google Meet. The orientation aimed to introduce the new members to Rotaract, its bylaws, and what it means to be a Rotaractor.
The event covered various topics, including the history, protocols, and more. District Membership Chair, Vladimir Beldeniza, played a crucial role in facilitating the orientation. He shared his Rotaractor and Rotarian experiences, emphasizing the importance of fellowship through service.
Following the orientation, members asked questions about club finances and their roles as members and officers, all of which were enthusiastically addressed by Membership Chair Vladimir.

The Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan, led by MP Ivan Amador, with the presence of PP Roland, PP Jonathan, Rtr. Carmina, and Rtr. Talitha, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Constitution-Hill Bagong Sandigan, led by MP Evelyn Adrino, and the Interact Club of Judge Feliciano Belmonte Sr. High School, with its President Angel Solidum, Rover Scouts, and the Bureau of Plant Industry, conducted a tree-planting project on August 4, 2024, at Sitio Cucong, Dona Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan.
The collaboration of clubs and organizations has significantly enhanced environmental protection through a tree-planting initiative, supported by the Bureau of Plant Industry. This project aims to reduce flood and landslide risks, particularly during the wet season, by reinforcing the land with new vegetation.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Bureau of Plant Industry for providing fruit trees, herbal plant seedlings, and vegetable seeds that are essential to this project. Their contribution has been pivotal in our efforts to establish a more resilient local ecosystem and mitigate environmental risks. This partnership between community groups and a government agency showcases the effectiveness of collaboration in effecting meaningful environmental change. On August 4, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan, led by President Ivan Amador and Club Secretary Christian Paul Mendoza, presented the club's plans and programs for the Rotary Year 2024-2025 during the District Rotaract Representative's Official Visit at the Rotary Center in Quezon City.
MP Ivan Amador introduced the club, starting with the RACBS profile. He presented the history, goals, demographics, members and officers, and club milestones. Then, he discussed the club's updated five-year plan, which addressed the four Rotary International Strategic Priorities: 1. Increase our Impact, 2. Expand our Reach, 3. Enhance Participant Engagement, and 4. Increase our Ability to Adapt. These priorities guide the club's goals throughout the year. Additionally, MP Ivan Amador talked about the club's action plans and key performance indicators set for each Rotary International objective, as well as the club's goals for Year 5.
After a thorough presentation of the club's profile and updated five-year plan, MP Ivan Amador discussed the calendar of activities. He promoted the club's projects for the whole year, ensuring they aligned with each Rotary monthly theme, signature projects, targets, and activities for each Avenue of Service and Rotary's Areas of Focus. Additionally, MP Ivan also explained how the club implements the plans and programs presented, manages finances and transparency, ensures sustainability, and leads the club to realize the RACBS projects.
This term marked another important achievement for the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan as we showcased our capabilities to our local communities. We are grateful to the district team, including DRR Excelsis Angel Ilagan, PDRR Dianna Isabelle Desuyo, DCOS Stephen James Cachuela, DT Raisa Tunay, ADRR Immanuel Job Morata, and ADRR Patricia Denise Cabreros, for sharing their expertise, guidance, and recommendations to help us improve our services. Magical Donation for a Magical School Year

The Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan demonstrated its dedication to education and community development on July 19, 2024, by taking on major community service projects to support Judge Feliciano Belmonte Sr. High School Brigada Eskwela Program. This initiative was headed by Rotaract Magical President Ivan Amador and its sponsoring club, Magical President Evelyn Adrino. The club generously donated cleaning supplies to support school maintenance and actively participated in painting yellow lanes on the school grounds to improve order and safety, in addition to making material donations. These practical initiatives demonstrate the club's commitment to enhancing student learning settings and their appreciation of the value of well-kept educational facilities.
Relatedly, Judge Feliciano Belmonte Sr. High School Principal Maria Gina M. Rocena and Magical President Ivan Amador of the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan discussed establishing the framework for future cooperation. The meeting included an extensive conversation regarding the club and the school's alliance. The Memorandum of Agreement indicates a commitment to collaborative endeavors, which may include different educational initiatives and community projects. On July 1, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan hosted its annual children's party in collaboration with its sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of Constitutional Hill Bagong Sandigan, led by MP Evelyn Adrino, and the Interact Club of Judge Feliciano Belmonte Sr. High School, led by IMP Angel Solidum, marked the start of the magical term. The event took place at Barangay Sta. Cruz, Quezon City.
The occasion focused on maternal and child health and water, sanitation, and hygiene, two of the Rotary's key areas of focus, and featured a variety of engaging activities for both mothers and children. Mothers participated in an energetic Zumba session promoting physical health and wellness, while the children enjoyed fun games and a captivating magic show performed by clowns.
All attendees were well fed with a thoughtful selection of refreshments. Children were treated to "Taho" and nutritious breakfast meals, while mothers enjoyed servings of Pancit and Lumpia.
As a parting gift, every child received a loot bag filled with essential hygiene kits and biscuits. This thoughtful addition not only brought smiles to the children's faces but also promoted good hygiene practices and provided a small nutritional boost.
The event successfully combined fun, health awareness, and community service, embodying the spirit of Rotary and setting a positive tone for the magical term ahead. On June 29, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan attended a lively turnover ceremony hosted by its sponsor club, the Rotary Club of Constitution Hill Bagong Sandigan, at the Celebrity Club in Quezon City.
The highlight of the ceremony was the official handover from the outgoing Hope-Creating Presidents to the incoming Magical Presidents for the Rotary Year 2024-2025. Outgoing Hope-Creating President Carlos Miguel Requino passed the banner to incoming Magical President Ivan Amador for the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan. Similarly, the Rotary Club of Constitution Hill Bagong Sandigan's Hope Creating President, Gina Santos, handed over leadership, the bell, and gavel to incoming Magical President Evelyn Adrino.

The Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan participated in the Rotaract District Learning Seminar (RDLS), a highly anticipated district event. Hosted by the Rotaract Club of Balintawak and co-hosted by the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan, the event took place on June 29, 2024, at the Global Lounge, Rotary Center, Quezon City.
The event was a success, with newly inducted presidents of different clubs from District 3780 in attendance. The presence of our club had a significant impact, as we sent 10 delegates, setting a new target for club participation. Additionally, our new members actively engaged in the plenary sessions, gaining valuable knowledge and experience about their roles in Rotaract.
In addition to co-hosting, our club set up a booth to showcase limited-edition magical phone charms, kick-starting our fundraising activities. These charms, representing the Magic of Rotary theme, helped us connect with other clubs in the districts. The fundraiser was a success, with all items sold, enabling us to progressively build funds for the year.
A key highlight of the event was the presence of District 3780 Governor Milo Lucenario, who shared his knowledge and delivered inspirational messages to the district and its presidents. Another highlight was a talk by Pilipinas Rotaract MDIO Chair John Philip Chan, who offered insights into being a Rotaractor and shared motivating messages with all attendees.
The Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan looks forward to the Rotary Year 2024-2025 with great excitement, particularly under the leadership of the newly inducted Magical President, Ivan Amador. Together with his club officers and members, their dedication and leadership skills will propel the club to greater heights.

On June 28, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan conducted its Strategic Planning session for the 2024–2025 Rotary Year via Google Meet. The session was led by President Ivan Amador and PE/Club Secretary Christian Paul Mendoza.
During the session, the club reviewed past projections and set new benchmarks to assess progress and establish ambitious yet achievable goals. Members actively participated, providing valuable suggestions and questions to enrich the planning process and show their commitment to enhancing the club's reputation.
A key highlight was the participation of Immediate Past President (IPP) Carlos Miguel Requino, who shared his experience and insight. IPP Carlos mentored President Amador and newer members on maximizing the club's potential in community projects and setting realistic yet ambitious goals.
The upcoming term promises innovative ideas, impactful community service, and personal growth opportunities. This strategic plan laid a strong foundation for a transformative year under President Ivan Amador's leadership.
With a clear vision, dedicated members, and guidance from experienced leaders like IPP Carlos, the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan is set to make a significant impact in their community and beyond during the 2024–2025 Rotary year. The Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan, in partnership with its sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of Constitution Hill Bagong Sandigan, led by MP Evelyn Adrino, organized "Operation Tuli at Sulyap ng Pag-asa" in Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City, on June 28, 2024. This community project aimed to assist young boys in their cultural transition to manhood through a free circumcision drive.
The event provided essential medical services to underprivileged families, ensuring that proper health protocols were followed. Licensed healthcare professionals performed the procedures in a safe and hygienic environment. Beyond medical care, the project offered emotional support to participants and their families. Volunteers from both clubs assisted with logistics, comforted nervous children, and provided aftercare instructions to parents.
A highlight was the presence of President Ivan Amador, who demonstrated his commitment to the community. He interacted with the boys and their families, offering encouragement and moral support. After the surgeries, President Amador shared personal tips to aid recovery, covering wound care, hygiene, and managing discomfort.

Beginning with Love, Optimism, and Overjoyed Dedications
On June 26, 2024, a blood donation event took place at the barangay hall of Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City. This community-led initiative aimed to address the ongoing need for blood donations and raise awareness about the importance of giving blood. The event saw active participation from local residents and organizations, including the Interact Club of Judge Feliciano Belmonte Sr. High School, led by IMP Angel Solidum; the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan, led by RMP Ivan Amador; and its sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of Constitution Hill Bagong Sandigan, led by MP Evelyn Adrino.
One notable participant was PP Jonathan Azaña from the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan. This marked his second time donating blood, and he expressed great enthusiasm about the experience. Azaña's participation not only contributed to the blood supply but also set an inspiring example for others in the community.

The Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan participated in the "Brave Minds, Kind Hearts: A Journey to Wellness" program, which Rotaract District 3780 organized at the Rotary Center in partnership with the Quezon City Health Department on June 23, 2024.
The participants, including President-Elect Ivan C. Amador, Vice President Rachellem S. Lopez, and Rotaractor Carmina Zuñiga, actively engaged in the program by discussing mental health, stress management, and providing advice to fellow participants on letting go of past experiences, particularly in love and relationships. The highlight of the event was the six stages, with the "happy place" stage being particularly enjoyable as everyone gathered for a karaoke session, sharing their musical talents and singing songs about love, hope, and faith. Overall, it was a rewarding and enriching event for all the participants.

The Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan took part in the first day of the President-Elect and Secretary-Elect Training Seminar (PESETS) on June 9, 2024, at Quezon City Hall’s Legislative Building Committee Rooms 1, 2, and 3. The day’s agenda focused on fundamental aspects of Rotaract leadership, such as star points, bylaws, Rotaract as a global organization, and more. These sessions laid the groundwork for understanding one’s responsibilities and service within the broader context of Rotaract. PN Trisha Dane Matriano represented President-Elect Ivan Amador, while Rtr. Vince Harry Lobas attended on behalf of Secretary-Elect Christian Paul Mendoza. Their active participation allowed for essential information to be shared with the newly elected officials, facilitating a smooth transition within club leadership. This training seminar is a significant step in preparing future Rotaractors to effectively lead their clubs and ensure the continuation of their mission in community service and self-improvement efforts.
The second day of the President-Elect and Secretary-Elect Training Seminar (PESETS) session took place on June 15, 2024, at Committee Rooms 1, 2, and 3 at the Legislative Building of Quezon City Hall. The session focused on important Rotaract leadership aspects, including membership strategies, improving public image, exploring the seven areas of focus, and earning points for awards at the end of the term. President-Elect Ivan Amador and Secretary-Elect Christian Paul Mendoza actively participated in the event, gaining firsthand experience and planning for their upcoming activities. The seminar provided an opportunity for these new leaders to collaborate, brainstorm ideas, and formulate plans for the upcoming year. One important highlight of the day was securing host and co-hosting positions for future district events in the club, demonstrating proactive leadership and improving the club's visibility and influence within the district. The knowledge gained from attending this seminar and the networks built will contribute to a successful year and bring about positive change in our Rotaract club.

On May 25, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Caloocan Stellar hosted "Project Kinang: Kinabukasang Angat" at Slamvoiz Covered Court in Phase 1 Bagong Silang, Caloocan City. The event was a great success and was made possible through the partnership of PESO Caloocan, DOLE, and the Rotary Club of Metro-Novaliches Caloocan. It was co-hosted by its twin club, the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan, with the participation of MP Ivan Amador and VP Rachellem Lopez.
Project Kinang: Kinabukasang Angat aimed to empower Caloocan City’s youth and unemployed by providing them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and opportunities they need to be self-sufficient at this point and look forward to a better future. The event kicked off with an exciting career fair, complete with representatives from several different industries and organizations who had tables to show students the possible paths they might take in their future careers. The participants had the opportunity to discover various sectors, interact with industry professionals, and receive valuable insights about the job opportunities available.
At the job fair, many employers held in-person interviews with young people interested in future employment. They covered topics like resume writing, interview skills, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Facilitators and industry experts shared their knowledge and provided practical tips to help participants become more employable and develop essential life skills.
One of the highlights of the event was the number of hired employees who were able to secure their spots in their chosen careers on the same day. They were ready to start their work and meet their employer's requirements. As the event ended, most participants left feeling more confident and equipped with practical skills and valuable connections. They were ready to pursue their chosen paths and contribute to their personal growth and development.

The College of Accountancy and Finance at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines celebrated its annual College of Accountancy and Finance Week, also known as CAF Week 2024, from April 15 to 20. This event was organized in partnership with the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan, and it was represented and participated in by MP Ivan Amador and Secretary Christian Paul Mendoza.
Despite the demands of their rigorous academic programs, CAF students enthusiastically participated in a multitude of activities, upholding the event's legacy with their unique abilities and unwavering dedication. Highlights included JournFest 2024 for literary expression, Artflex for artistic talents, Board Games for strategic thinking, CAF Music Awards and Dance Competition for performers, and an Esports Competition for critical and team management. Lastly, the star event was the Mr. and Ms. CAF 2024, where two newly crowned CAF students showed their skills in poise, intelligence, and talent.
Throughout the week, the partnership with the Rotaract Club of Bagong Sandigan played a crucial role in organizing and facilitating the various events, ensuring their smooth execution, and promoting a sense of community involvement.
