WeatherApp (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is developed by Rabeya. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
By using WeatherApp, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
The app requests access to your device’s precise location (GPS) or approximate location to provide weather information for your current area.
Location data is used only at the time of the request to fetch weather data.
We do not store, log, track, or retain your location history.
Location information is never saved on our servers.
Weather data is retrieved from Open-Meteo, a free and open-source weather API.
Your latitude and longitude coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo solely to obtain weather forecasts for your location.
We do not control how Open-Meteo processes data on their servers. Please review their policies for more information.
The app uses Android’s built-in Geocoder service to convert geographic coordinates into a readable city name.
This process is handled locally on your device or through Google’s geocoding service as part of the Android platform.
No city names or coordinates are stored by the app.
We value your privacy. WeatherApp does not:
Collect personal information (name, email address, phone number, etc.)
Create user accounts
Store user profiles
Use analytics tools
Use tracking technologies
Include advertising SDKs
Store location history
Share data for marketing or advertising purposes
The app communicates only with the following third-party service:
Service - Purpose - Privacy Policy
Open-Meteo - Provides weather forecast data - https://open-meteo.com/en/terms
Only geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) are transmitted to retrieve weather data.
WeatherApp requests the following permissions:
Permission - Purpose
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION - To obtain precise location for accurate local weather
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION - To obtain approximate location as a fallback
INTERNET - To retrieve weather data from Open-Meteo
All permissions are requested at runtime.
You may:
Deny location access (the app will not function without it)
Revoke permissions at any time via your device’s Settings
We take appropriate measures to protect your information:
All communication with Open-Meteo is conducted over HTTPS (encrypted connections).
No personal data is stored locally or remotely by the app.
The app does not use databases or local storage to retain personal data.
WeatherApp does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
Since we do not collect personal data from any users, the app is safe for use by all age groups.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
