I work on numerical methods for nonlinear optimal Control problems with emphasis on computing solutions efficiently. Some tools used include automatic differentiation, parallel evakuations and customized numerical methods for optimization.
My work at IIT Madras explored developing numerical methods to solve optimal control problems in real-time for 6DoF aircraft and tanker ship models. Trajectory optimization, differential flatness and model predictive control were a key component of the thesis.
