Kelly has released 18 studio albums and is known for hit singles such as "I Believe I Can Fly", "Bump N' Grind", "Your Body's Callin'", "Gotham City", "Ignition (Remix)", "If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time", "The World's Greatest", "I'm a Flirt (Remix)", and the hip hopera Trapped in the Closet. In 1998, he won three Grammy Awards for "I Believe I Can Fly".[7] Kelly has also written, produced, and remixed songs, singles, and albums for other artists such as Michael Jackson, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Aaliyah and Janet Jackson. In 1996, he received a Grammy Award nomination for writing and producing Michael Jackson's single "You Are Not Alone", which also won a Guinness World Record as the first song in history to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.[7]

In 1994, Kelly established himself as a leading producer by producing songs for various artists, including Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, and Changing Faces.[70] He co-headlined a tour with Salt-N-Pepa and headlined the Budweiser Superfest tour.[71][68]

Kelly's success continued with the November 14, 1995, release of R. Kelly, his eponymous second studio album. Critics praised him for his departure from salacious bedroom songs to embracing vulnerability. New York Times contributor Stephen Holden described Kelly as "The reigning king of pop-soul sex talks a lot tougher than Barry White, the father of such fluffed-up pillow talks and along with Marvin Gaye and Donny Hathaway, [both] major influences for Kelly."[73] In December 1995, Professor Michael Eric Dyson critiqued Kelly's self-titled album "R. Kelly" for VIBE. Dyson described Kelly's growth from the 12 Play album: "Kelly reshapes his personal turmoil to artistic benefit" and noted that Kelly is "reborn before our very own ears".[74]

On November 7, 2000, he released his fifth studio album, TP-2.com, a project aligned with his breakthrough album, 12 Play. Unlike R., all songs on TP-2.com were written, arranged, and produced by Kelly. AllMusic's Jason Birchmeier gave TP-2.com 4 stars and stated: "Kelly knows how to take proven formulas and funnel them through his own stylistic aesthetic, which usually means slowing down the tempo, laying on lush choruses of strings and background vocals, taming down the lyrics for radio, and catering his pitch primarily to wistful women.[87]

On February 18, 2003, Kelly released the album, Chocolate Factory. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, ending the first two-week run of rapper 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin'.[99] It sold 532,000 copies in its first week.[100] The album was also supported by its follow-up singles, "Snake" and the remix of "Step in the Name of Love"; the latter of which peaked at number nine on the Hot 100. Later that year, in September, Kelly's first greatest hits album, The R. in R&B Collection, Vol. 1, was released which included "Thoia Thoing" and two other previously unreleased songs.[101]

Kelly's tenth album Love Letter, released on December 14, 2010, included 15 songs, one of which was Kelly singing "You Are Not Alone", a track Kelly originally wrote for Michael Jackson. The first single "When a Woman Loves" was nominated for a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards.[56]

The song was criticized by reviewers, who described it as an act of trolling.[181][182] Many outlets compared the song to that of his "Heaven I Need a Hug" extended version, Trapped in the Closet opera, "I Believe I Can Fly" concert remix, and O. J. Simpson's autobiographical novel If I Did It.[183][184] Andrea Kelly and Carey Killa Kelly (R. Kelly's ex-wife and brother, respectively) responded to "I Admit" with songs that contain additional allegations against R. Kelly.[185][186]

In addition to his solo and collaboration success, Kelly has also written and produced several hit songs, such as "Age Ain't Nothing but a Number" for Aaliyah, "Fortunate" for Maxwell, "You Are Not Alone" for Michael Jackson, "G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T." for Changing Faces, "Bump, Bump, Bump" for B2K, and many more.

In early-January 2019, Kelly was dropped from RCA Records following the airing of Surviving R. Kelly, which detailed numerous sexual assault allegations against the singer for decades.[253] A number of musicians who collaborated with Kelly expressed regret for working with him, including Celine Dion ("I'm Your Angel"), Nick Cannon ("Gigolo"), Chance the Rapper ("Somewhere in Paradise"), Lady Gaga ("Do What U Want"), and Jennifer Hudson ("It's Your World"). Some went the extent of having streaming services remove their own songs that feature his vocals or credit him for songwriting or production.[254]

Anyhoo, I started with that album when I was exploring his music, but I did also explore his music that came before and I did also find a lot that I liked. Once I got a taste for what songs I really liked, I threw them into a playlist that would become my go-to playlist and would later become my depression anthems. I would play this playlist over and over again all throughout the day just to make it through. Most of the days, I was just sitting on the couch staring at the wall, being too depressed to do anything.

I am looking for really long songs (like 8 minutes or longer) where they are telling a story through the whole thing. I'm not picky about the genre or even the content, as long as it's full of twists and turns. Humor is also appreciated. Songs I know that fit this mold:

so i recently started listening to MGKs music after hating on him for years about the Eminem beef. I personally am not a fan of his rap but his pop punk really hits hard and i love it. Can y'all suggest songs similar to love race, emo girl, bloody valentine

We know that Kelly has four times as many songs as Lou, so K = 4L. We also know that Tiffany has six times as many songs as Lou, so T = 6L. We can substitute those values for K and T in our equation. So it becomes this:

So Lou has 62 songs on his device. If Kelly has four times the number of songs that Lou has, then she has 4 x 62 = 248 songs. If Tiffany has six times the number of songs that Lou has, then she has 6 x 62 = 372 songs.

Demonstrating his skill as a guitar player and his versatile ear, MGK played an acoustic as he sheds tears and his heart. Heartbreak makes for good songs. Here is yet another example from the Blonde Don. But the drums build and there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Songs like Glass House with Naomi Wild and The Kid LAROI collaborations really showcase how versatile he can be as an artist. Lending a little more of a punk edge to songs that definitely needed that balance.

Clarkson's second album, Breakaway, found her fully coming into her power as a pop singer, and its title track remains one of her most powerful songs to date. Leaning more into her rock influences has always been a recipe for success for Clarkson, and the chorus of "Breakaway" is undeniable, from the soaring riff to her emotive vocals. (Like "Miss Independent," "Breakaway" also linked her to a fellow star: Avril Lavigne co-wrote the song.)

The track provided both immediate and long-term success for Clarkson, winning one of her first GRAMMYs (for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance; Breakaway won for Best Pop Vocal Album that year) and remaining one of the most iconic songs of her career.

The annals of Christmas songs are both hallowed and crowded, making it hard for new entries to break into the rotation. Yet Clarkson's charm and knack for catchy melodies helped her spawn a new classic with "Underneath The Tree," one of many spectacular tracks on her first holiday album, 2013's Wrapped In Red.

Clarkson gave fans two new tracks to preview chemistry, "me" and "mine," two songs that hint she's not holding anything back on her tenth album. While both are powerful statement pieces, "me" is the standout, proving that she's more powerful than ever even 20 years into her career.

But Swift wasn't the only star celebrating their music milestones on the road. After a thrilling reunion in 2019, the Jonas Brothers continued to shock fans with what's possibly the most challenging tour of their career. Titled "Five Albums. One Night. The World Tour," the trio featured their entire discography in a set list that included over 60 songs.

In her '70s chart-topper, Carly Simon narrates the tale of an arrogant man who believes every woman is enchanted by his aura. But the folk songstress wants to make it very clear she's not impressed by his embellished stories or luxurious closet.

It's impossible to talk about scathing breakup songs without acknowledging Alanis Morissette's quintessential heartbreak anthem, "You Oughta Know." At the time of its release, the Jagged Little Pill single contained some of the most honest and vitriolic lyrics in existence.

Taylor Swift has long solidified herself as the reigning queen of love songs, from ballads honoring the most committed relationships to diss tracks of heartbreaking adolescent flings. The latter houses one of the earliest (and most twangy) hits in Swift's sweeping catalog: "Picture to Burn."

"It's a grown ass woman's record," she told iHeartRadio. "Because with these same songs, even after winning'Idol,' I would not have made this record, it would not sound like it does now. 'Cause I think with this record, you have to have lived through certain circumstances; I had to've had all those hurdles and all those things to really appreciate the gravity of the situation that I'm in right now, and knowing the difference."

Just four months after releasing Meaning of Life, Kelly returned to reality TV by joining NBC's "The Voice" as a coach. Then in 2019, her empire grew with the launch of The Kelly Clarkson Show. The foray into daytime became an instant hit, also giving Clarkson a platform to prove she truly could sing literally anything, thanks to her daily "Kellyoke" performances at the top of each episode. (The popular segment would eventually birth a 2022 EP of the same name, with the songstress covering everything from Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever" and Linda Ronstadt's "Blue Bayou" to Whitney Houston's "Queen of the Night" and "Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead.) 17dc91bb1f
