1. INTRODUCTION

Quranic App ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read it carefully.

This policy applies to all users of the App worldwide, including users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), and California, and governs all versions of the App distributed via the Google Play Store.

By installing or using the App, you consent to the practices described herein. If you do not agree, you should uninstall the App and discontinue its use immediately.

2. DEFINITIONS

"Personal Data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

"Processing" means any operation performed on Personal Data, including collection, storage, use, and deletion.

"Data Controller" means the entity that determines the purposes and means of processing Personal Data — in this case, zenryse.com.

"User" or "You" means any individual who downloads, installs, or uses the Quranic App.

"Device" means the mobile device (smartphone or tablet) on which you install the App.

"Local Storage" means data stored exclusively on your Device, not transmitted to any external server.

3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the App's core Islamic functionality. We do not operate user accounts and do not collect personally identifiable information.

3.1 Precise Geolocation

We request access to your device's GPS location (latitude and longitude) solely for the following purposes:

- Calculating accurate daily prayer times (Salah) using your geographic coordinates.

- Determining the Qibla direction (the bearing toward the Kaaba in Makkah al-Mukarramah).

Location data is processed entirely on-device in real time. It is never transmitted to our servers, stored persistently, or shared with any third party. Location is accessed only when you actively use the Prayer Times or Qibla features.

Required Android permissions: ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION.

3.2 Local Notification Scheduling

We schedule on-device notifications to deliver Adhan (call to prayer) alerts and reminders for Islamic occasions (e.g., Ramadan, Eid). All notifications are generated locally by your device's operating system. No data is transmitted to external servers to trigger, log, or track notifications.

Required Android permission: POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13 and above).

3.3 App Storage (Cache)

We write to your device's private app storage to:

- Cache Quran text, translations, and audio recitations for offline use.

- Persist your in-app preferences (reciter selection, language, theme, bookmarks).

This storage is sandboxed to the App. We do not access your photos, contacts, documents, or any other files on your device.

3.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect the following:

- Name, email address, or account credentials

- Phone number

- Payment or financial information

- Camera or microphone data

- Contacts or call logs

- Browsing or search history

- Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID / IDFA)

- Crash reports or usage analytics

- IP address or network identifiers

- Health or biometric data

- Social network information

4. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING (GDPR — EEA / UK USERS)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), we rely on the following legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

- Geolocation (prayer times & Qibla): Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — you grant location permission explicitly on your device.

- Local notification scheduling: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — you enable notifications explicitly.

- Local storage of preferences & cached content: Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — necessary for core app functionality.

You may withdraw consent at any time by revoking the relevant device permission (see Section 9). Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information described in Section 3 solely and exclusively for the following purposes:

- Prayer time calculation: To compute accurate daily Salah times based on your GPS location.

- Qibla direction: To calculate and display the bearing toward the Kaaba in Makkah.

- Adhan notifications: To schedule and deliver on-device prayer call alerts and Islamic event reminders.

- Offline Quran access: To cache Quran text, audio recitations, and Duas locally for uninterrupted offline use.

- User preference persistence: To remember your language, theme, reciter, and other settings across sessions.

We do not use your information for advertising, behavioural profiling, market research, or any purpose beyond the App's core Islamic functionality.

6. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal data to any third party for commercial purposes.

Disclosure may occur only in the following strictly limited circumstances:

6.1 Legal Obligations

We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law, court order, subpoena, or other governmental process, and only to the extent required.

6.2 Protection of Rights and Safety

We may disclose information where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the App, our users, or the public, as required or permitted by law.

6.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, any data held by us would be disclosed to the relevant successor entity, subject to the same level of protection described in this Privacy Policy. We will provide notice before your data is transferred.

Since the App stores all data locally on your device and does not transmit personal data to our servers, there is typically no personal data held by us to share.

7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The App integrates the following third-party libraries and services. Each operates under its own independent privacy policy:

Google Play Services

Purpose: App distribution and system-level services.

Data transmitted: Managed by Google at the device level.

Capacitor (Ionic)

Purpose: Native device bridge (geolocation, notifications, storage).

Data transmitted: None.

Adhan.js

Purpose: Open-source prayer time calculation algorithm (fully offline).

Data transmitted: None.

OpenStreetMap

Purpose: Map tiles for the Qibla compass display.

Data transmitted: Approximate location transmitted as a standard HTTP request to load map tiles.

Note regarding OpenStreetMap: When you use the Qibla compass feature, your approximate location is transmitted to OpenStreetMap tile servers solely to load map imagery. This is a stateless network request. OpenStreetMap does not associate this request with a persistent user profile. We do not store or forward this data.

8. DATA RETENTION

We do not maintain servers or databases containing personal data. All data associated with the App resides exclusively on your device:

- Prayer time & Qibla location: Not retained — processed in real time only.

- User preferences & bookmarks: Retained until you clear app data or uninstall the App.

- Cached audio / Quran text: Retained until you clear the app cache or uninstall the App.

- Notification schedules: Retained until you disable notifications or uninstall the App.

To delete all locally stored data:

Android Settings → Apps → Quranic App → Storage → Clear Data / Clear Cache

Upon uninstalling the App, all locally stored data is permanently deleted by the Android operating system. We have no ability to recover or retain this data.

9. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

9.1 Right to Access

You have the right to know what data the App stores. All data is stored on your device and can be reviewed via Android Settings → Apps → Quranic App → Storage.

9.2 Right to Erasure

You may delete all data associated with the App at any time:

- Android Settings → Apps → Quranic App → Storage → Clear Data

- Or simply uninstall the App.

9.3 Revoking Location Permission

You may revoke location access at any time:

- Android Settings → Apps → Quranic App → Permissions → Location → Deny

If denied, you may manually enter your city within the App to continue receiving prayer times.

9.4 Disabling Notifications

- In-App: Settings → Notification Settings → Toggle Off

- System: Android Settings → Apps → Quranic App → Notifications → Disable All

9.5 GDPR Rights (EEA / UK Residents)

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, you have the right to: (i) access your personal data; (ii) rectify inaccurate data; (iii) erase your data; (iv) restrict or object to processing; (v) data portability; and (vi) lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (e.g., the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or your national Data Protection Authority in the EEA).

9.6 CCPA Rights (California Residents)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to: (i) know what personal information is collected, used, disclosed, or sold; (ii) delete personal information; (iii) opt out of the sale of personal information; and (iv) non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Quranic App is intended for a general audience of all ages and is designed as a safe, family-friendly Islamic resource.

- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable statutory age in the user's jurisdiction).

- The App does not contain advertising, in-app purchases, chat features, social functionality, or any mechanism through which a child could transmit personal data.

- Because no personal data is collected, the App presents no inherent privacy risk to minors.

- Parents and guardians may delete all App data by following the instructions in Section 8.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data through the App, please contact us immediately at Quranicapp.org@gmail.com. We will take prompt corrective action.

This App is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Google Play Families Policy.

11. DATA SECURITY

We implement reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard information processed by the App:

- Local-only architecture: No personal data is transmitted to or stored on external servers, eliminating server-side breach risk.

- Sandboxed storage: Data is written to the App's private storage directory, which is inaccessible to other applications.

- No user accounts: The absence of a login system eliminates risks associated with credential theft or account takeover.

- Encrypted in transit: All network requests (e.g., loading map tiles, fetching audio content) are made exclusively over HTTPS/TLS.

- No third-party analytics: We do not integrate SDKs that silently transmit device or usage data.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. If you believe a security incident has occurred, please notify us at Quranicapp.org@gmail.com.

12. ADVERTISING

The Quranic App does not display advertisements of any kind. We do not integrate any advertising SDK, ad network, or demand-side platform (DSP). We do not collect, process, or share Advertising IDs (Google Advertising ID / IDFA) or any other identifiers used for targeted advertising. Your use of the App is never monetised through advertising.

13. ANALYTICS AND CRASH REPORTING

We do not integrate any analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting SDK — including, without limitation, Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Sentry, Amplitude, or Mixpanel. We do not collect session data, event logs, feature usage statistics, device fingerprints, or crash reports. All App performance optimisation is carried out without the collection of user data.

14. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

The App is designed to operate entirely offline. We do not transfer your personal data across international borders. All data is stored and processed locally on your device.

Limited exceptions apply where your device makes network requests to third-party infrastructure (e.g., OpenStreetMap tile servers for the Qibla map). Such requests are governed exclusively by the relevant third party's privacy policy and their applicable data transfer mechanisms.

15. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make material changes, we will:

- Update the "Effective Date" field at the top of this document.

- Publish the updated policy at the URL provided to Google Play.

- Notify users via an in-app notice or Google Play Store update description, as appropriate.

Your continued use of the App following the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
