Effective Date: October 4, 2026
Applies to: Quote Reflect for iPhone. Sections marked "Version 2.0 and later" describe features that are not in earlier versions of the app.
Looking for Android? See the Quote Reflect for Android Privacy Policy & Terms.
Your quotes, notes, and reflections are stored on your device. We cannot see them.
iCloud sync (version 2.0 and later) is optional and off until you turn it on. When it's on, your content is stored in your own private iCloud account, encrypted so that we cannot read it.
We use TelemetryDeck for anonymous usage statistics and RevenueCat to handle purchases. Neither receives the content you save.
We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.

For the purposes of EU and UK data protection law, Prickly Pear App Works LLC is the data controller.
Quotes, sources, topics, notes, reflections, and app settings you create in Quote Reflect are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this information and cannot retrieve it.
Quote Reflect can sync your library across your devices using Apple's iCloud (CloudKit).
It's optional. Sync is off by default, including after updating from an earlier version. You can turn it on or off in the app under Settings → iCloud.
Where your data goes. When sync is on, your quotes, sources, topics, notes, reflections, and their dates are stored in the private database of your own iCloud account. Using sync counts toward your iCloud storage.
We cannot read it. This content is stored in CloudKit's encrypted fields. We, as the developer, have no access to your private iCloud data and cannot view, export, or recover it.
Apple's role. iCloud is provided by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
If you don't use iCloud, the app works exactly as before and your data stays on your device.
Quote Reflect supports Siri and the Shortcuts app through Apple's App Intents framework. When you save a quote with Siri:
Your voice is processed by Apple. Quote Reflect never receives audio.
The app receives only the final text of your quote, just as if you had typed it.
That text is stored like any other quote: on your device, and in your private iCloud if you've turned on sync.
See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles Siri data: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Reflection reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No reminder content is sent to us.
We use TelemetryDeck to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. TelemetryDeck is designed for privacy:
It uses an anonymous identifier that is hashed so it cannot be traced back to you.
It does not store IP addresses, use advertising identifiers, or use cookies.
We see only aggregated statistics, never individual users.
What we receive includes events such as which features are used (for example, that a quote was created or that sync was turned on), app version, and general device information such as device model, OS version, and language. We never send the text of your quotes, notes, or reflections.
TelemetryDeck's privacy policy: https://telemetrydeck.com/privacy/
Quote Reflect Premium is a one-time purchase made through the Apple App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage purchases. RevenueCat receives:
an anonymous app user ID generated by the app (not your name, email, or Apple ID)
your purchase and transaction history for this app
general device and app information, such as OS version, app version, and App Store country
Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your payment details.
RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/
If you installed Quote Reflect after tapping an ad in the App Store, Apple's AdServices framework provides an attribution token that RevenueCat uses to tell us which ad campaign led to the install. This doesn't use your advertising identifier (IDFA), doesn't identify you, and isn't used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

TelemetryDeck operates from the European Union. RevenueCat and Apple may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the EU or UK, these providers rely on recognized safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
On your device: kept until you delete it or delete the app.
In your iCloud: kept until you delete it (see below). Turning sync off stops syncing but does not erase the copy already in iCloud.
TelemetryDeck and RevenueCat: kept by those providers according to their own retention policies. Anonymous statistics may be kept in aggregate.
Delete a quote: swipe to delete in the Library, or use Delete Quote on the edit screen. With sync on, it's removed from your other devices too.
Delete everything: Settings → Clear All Data. With sync on, this clears your library on all your synced devices.
Remove your iCloud copy: on your iPhone, open Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage (or Storage) → Quote Reflect → Delete Data.
Delete the app to remove all data stored on that device.
Depending on where you live (including the EU, UK, and US states such as California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data; to object to or restrict processing; and to withdraw consent at any time. We don't sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Because we can't access your quotes or iCloud data, and our analytics are anonymous, we usually hold little or nothing that identifies you. You can still contact us at support@pricklypearappworks.com and we'll answer within one month, free of charge. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Quote Reflect is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires).
We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date. If a change affects processing that relies on your consent, we'll ask for your consent again.
