Privacy Policy for Quotenotes
Effective date: September 20, 2026
Quotenotes is developed by Leonardo Hess. This policy explains how Quotenotes handles information when you use the app on iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Information handled by Quotenotes
Quotenotes stores content that you choose to provide, including:
Quotes and rich-text formatting
Authors, subjects, notes, and source information
Favorites and app preferences
Audio files that you choose to attach
Notification preferences
This information is stored locally on your device. Quotenotes does not require a developer-operated account.
iCloud sync
If you enable Save to iCloud, your quote library is stored and synchronized through Apple’s CloudKit service and your iCloud account. This feature is optional.
The developer does not operate a separate server that receives your quote library. Apple processes iCloud data according to its own privacy policy:
https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
You can disable iCloud sync in Quotenotes Settings. Changes may require closing and reopening the app on each device.
Device permissions
Quotenotes may request access to the following features:
Camera: Used to photograph text for creating a quote. Image analysis is performed using Apple’s on-device frameworks.
Photos: Used only when you choose to save a quote image to your photo library.
Notifications: Used to provide an optional daily quote reminder.
Files: Used when you choose to import an audio file or export content.
Network access: Used for optional iCloud synchronization through Apple.
You can manage these permissions in your device’s Settings or System Settings.
Widgets
Quotenotes may store a limited copy of quote information in an Apple App Group so that its widgets can display content. This information is shared only between Quotenotes and its widget extension on your device.
Information the developer does not collect
Quotenotes does not use third-party advertising, analytics, tracking, or profiling services. The developer does not collect or sell:
Your quote library
Your name, email address, or contact information
Your location
Advertising identifiers
Browsing or search history
Usage analytics or diagnostic data
Apple may independently collect diagnostic or App Store information according to your device settings and Apple’s policies.
Sharing and exports
Quotenotes does not sell or disclose your information to advertisers or data brokers.
When you choose to share, copy, save, or export content, that content is sent to the destination you select. The recipient or third-party service may handle it under its own privacy policy.
Data retention and deletion
Local content remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall Quotenotes, subject to device backups.
If iCloud sync is enabled, content may remain in your iCloud account and on your other devices. You can delete individual quotes through Quotenotes and manage associated iCloud data through your Apple account settings.
Children’s privacy
Quotenotes is not directed specifically to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information, including rights to access, correct, or delete it. Because the developer does not maintain accounts or directly collect your content, most data can be accessed or deleted directly through Quotenotes, your device, or your iCloud settings.
