Professional,straightforward and reliable EPC Assessments

 What is an EPC?

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) shows how energy efficient a property is. It gives the property an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient), together with recommendations for improving its energy performance.

An EPC is generally required when a property is built, sold or rented and is normally valid for 10 years.

EPC Requirements

Most homes being sold or rented require a valid EPC. There are some exemptions depending on the type and circumstances of the property.

An EPC must be commissioned before a property is marketed for sale or rent.

Landlords

For most privately rented properties, the current minimum energy efficiency standard is EPC E, unless a valid exemption applies.

Changes for landlords from 2030

The energy efficiency requirements for privately rented homes are due to become more demanding from 1 October 2030. Landlords should therefore consider the current energy performance of their property and any improvements that may be needed.
