Now, we were never prompted in the settings of the precise quiz itself to re-grade (e.g. by giving the point even to those who got it wrong, etc.) as we are when we change questions that aren't linked to a bank. This also leads me to believe that this is then a missing step between synching the bank to that actual quiz in spite of the fact that we were given the orange notice in the quiz itself to accept the changes.

The bottom line is that once a quiz is submitted by a student, and changes to a quiz item will not be reflected in the quizzes already submitted unless it is a regradable question and the regrade process is used. The quiz is recorded as it was attempted by the student. The changes will be reflected, as you noted, for those students who have not yet attempted the quiz.

I copied questions from my previous course to the current one. Now I'm trying to create a new quiz using question bank. When I click on question bank then unfiled questions to find quiz question, I don't see any questions listed. how can I make the old quiz questions (that are copied from the previous course) show in the current course? Thank you!

I have not done this in quite awhile, but I believe the trick is to export the quiz as a QTI file, then upload that QTI file into the new course. It will then add the questions from the quiz to the Question Bank.

I'm having the same problem, but the export/import trick isn't working. One difference perhaps is that I'd like to reuse the questions in the same course rather than a new course, and I created the original quiz in "old quizzes" rather than "new quizzes" and it's been imported from a prior class. When I export, I get a QTI file. But when I import that QTI file, selecting the desired question bank for the import, the import completes successfully, but the questions don't show up in the question bank. Argh! I'd be grateful for any further suggestions you can offer.

The export/import trick used to work, but now it doesn't. Did the new quiz option kill our old question banks? If they are making new options, why not make it easier to copy questions to a bank directly from each quiz?

I'm writing my quiz questions in my text editor in the "GIFT" format and then importing them to my quiz pool. The GIFT format is very quick and compact, and this method lets me develop questions without internet access.

The problem is that the GIFT format doesn't allow newlines in the middle of a question, but MarkDown relies on newlines to delineate code blocks. For example, I would like the following quiz question:

Questions in Moodle are organized into categories. A new course starts out with one category named "Default for [course name]." To make it easier to find questions, and to facilitate the use of random questions, organize your questions into additional categories. You can create a hierarchy of categories by creating subcategories inside parent categories. The more organized you make your question categories during the initial setup of your course, the easier it will be to reuse questions in future quizzes and exams.

You can add questions to a category by creating new questions within a category or moving questions you have already created from one category to another. You must create categories before you can populate them with questions.

To export an entire quiz, or question categories, see: Respondus: Enhanced Quizzing.

Note: Software for Windows provides a more comprehensive option for backing up quizzes, moving quizzes between Moodle courses, or moving quizzes and quiz questions between Moodle and other Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard Learn.

This resource overviews how to create a section (folder) of quiz questions in the question library, from which x number of questions are randomly pulled into a quiz for each student. An example of this would be a section containing 50 questions, from which 25 questions are pulled randomly into the quiz for each student.

We are excited to introduce the new Text Quiz Builder, a faster way to create Quizzes and Question Banks for Canvas! Within the Canvas interface, questions must be created one-by-one, involving many clicks and fields to enter your questions, answer choices, and feedback. In the new Text Quiz Builder, you can quickly type out all of these details in one big form that will export your assessment into a QTI file ready to be imported into Canvas. With final exams starting soon, you can use this new builder to quickly create your exam questions all at once!

You can use this quiz builder to create New Quizzes, Classic Quizzes, and Question Banks. On the Text Quiz Builder page, you will find full instructions on using this process to create your Canvas Quizzes. We highly recommend thoroughly reviewing these instructions but here is a quick rundown on using the builder.

You can make all questions equal or set different point values per question. You can also add feedback. Here is a True/False question with the question text and answer choices bolded for easier viewing:

Being able to display only a few questions extracted from a larger base would really be a game changer for my team ; we would use it for training purposes.

I looked for a lot of solutions with different tolls but none of them is satisfactory

I have a SLIDO quiz of 40 questions. I would like to activate the quiz but have the questions presented in a random order (not 1 thru 40). I want to do this because I may use it multiple times and want to change up the question presentation order.

Trivia is a well-known game that is fun to play with family, friends, and colleagues! It tests your general knowledge skills while creating bonds for a lifetime. Trivia is typically played with a prepared list of fun questions on any topic of your choice.

Check-out our awesome list of questions for your next face-to-face or virtual trivia night! The themes are ranging from general, food, drink, entertainment, sports, kid-friendly, geography, animal, science, and funny.

These questions will test your general knowledge on topics around the basics of video games, pop culture, movie trivia, and other general information; how many general knowledge questions do you think you could get right?

The top questions for kids you can use for any school or family trivia game. We have included challenging and easy questions to be sure there is something for everyone. Take note that some adults might not even know the answers to some of the easy trivia questions. So stay on your toes!

World travellers, get your world map out and test your geography skills. Get ready to brush up your knowledge on history trivia, capital city names, South America countries and so on. Some questions are going to have you checking the answer twice.

You do not need to be a scientist to get these questions right. Science questions can cover categories like parts of the human body, animal trivia, technology, and so on. Take a guess and see how many trivia questions you get correct.

We suggest including a mix of easy and hard questions with a variety of different subjects. If you only include more challenging questions when creating your list, it can be boring for your group and disheartening if they cannot answer any of them.

You can use sections to organize related quiz questions and display them to learners with a section header on a single page. This is useful when you want to present questions to a learner, but also organize questions conceptually by theme or parent topic. For example, sections could allow you to present all questions related to biology on a single page, or display a series of single biology questions on pages, each with the same section header.

When you align a question to a learning outcome, the learning outcomes is aligned to all uses of that question within quizzes in the same course offering. It is possible to bulk align to all questions within a question pool or section.

In addition, you can align learning outcomes to question pools. If you align a question pool to an outcome, all questions in that pool are aligned in all incidences of the question inside and outside the question pool.

When a question in a quiz has a learning outcome aligned to it, an outcome tag appears next to the question in the Quiz Builder View and the Question Pool Editor. The Question Pool view also shows the cumulative list of all outcomes aligned to questions within the pool.

To release the submission view to learners immediately upon completion of the quiz, on the Edit quiz page > Assessment tab, select the Auto-publish attempt results immediately upon completion check box. Submission views are set up in terms of a default view and an additional view. The default view enables all learners, for instance, to see their final quiz score immediately after submitting the quiz. You could edit the default view and show questions answered incorrectly, show questions answered correctly, show all questions without user responses, or show all questions with user responses. Displaying a detailed submission view to all learners immediately after submitting a quiz would work if all learners took the quiz at the same time. However, if learners are completing the quiz at different times, and you want to ensure that learnersdo not share the answer key with other learners, you may choose to create an additional submission view. This additional view only appears tolearners when you publish the feedback on a quiz attempt. 17dc91bb1f
