We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Quit Smoking app ("the App") collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
Short version: Almost all your data stays on your device. We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising.
When you set up the App, you provide:
Your first name — used to personalize the experience
Quit date — used to calculate your smoke-free duration
Smoking habits — cigarettes per day, cost per pack, cigarettes per pack, years smoking
Reasons for quitting — used for personalized motivation
Known triggers — used for craving notifications and insights
Currency preference — used for savings calculations
This information is stored locally on your device and optionally backed up via iCloud if you have iCloud backup enabled.
As you use the App, the following data is created and stored locally on your device:
Craving log entries (trigger, intensity, whether you resisted)
Relapse history (date, duration of previous smoke-free streak, trigger)
Journal entries (mood, written content)
Savings goals and custom milestones
Streak and achievement data
If you purchase a Pro subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives:
An anonymous user identifier (not linked to your name or email)
Your subscription status (active, expired, trial)
Purchase timestamps

We do not receive your payment details, credit card information, or Apple ID.
If you enable push notifications, the App schedules local notifications on your device. These are triggered locally and do not require sending data to our servers. Notification content is generated from the data you've provided (days smoke-free, savings, triggers).
The App does not currently use third-party analytics services. We do not track how you use the App.
Your information is used solely to:
Display your smoke-free progress and statistics
Personalize motivational content and notifications
Calculate savings and health recovery milestones
Support the craving SOS and journal features
Verify your subscription status (via RevenueCat)
We do not use your information for:
Advertising or marketing to you
Selling to third parties
Building profiles for external use
Any purpose unrelated to the App's core function
All personal data — your name, quit journey, journal entries, craving logs, and progress — is stored on your device using local storage (AsyncStorage). It is not transmitted to our servers.
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone, your device data (including App data) may be backed up to iCloud under Apple's control. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data within the App. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
You can delete all your App data at any time by going to Me → Reset everything within the App. This permanently erases your profile, quit history, journal, and all progress data from your device.
Uninstalling the App also removes all locally stored data.

We do not use advertising networks, social media trackers, or data brokers.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Smoking cessation apps are intended for adult users (18+).
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you
Delete your personal information
Correct inaccurate personal information
Object to our processing of your personal information
Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have direct control over it at all times. You can view, edit, or delete your data through the App's settings, or by uninstalling the App.
For subscription-related data held by RevenueCat, contact RevenueCat directly at their privacy portal.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via push notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this Policy was last revised.
Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
