What is Quillix?
Quillix is a platform for high school students to publish their writing and earn volunteer hours. We accept all genres including short stories, poetry, research papers, essays, and more.
Is Quillix really free?
Yes! Quillix is 100% free for all students. There are no hidden fees, premium tiers, or paid features. Our mission is to make writing accessible to all high school students.
What types of writing can I submit?
We accept all genres including: short stories, poetry, research papers, essays, creative nonfiction, personal narratives, opinion pieces, book reviews, science writing, historical fiction, fantasy, mystery, and more. If you wrote it, we want to read it!
How does the submission process work?
After you submit your writing to us, our editor team goes over your writing and checks for any revisions/improvements that can be made, once eligible for publication, your writing gets published to Community Library, where other students can read your work!
How do I earn volunteer hours?
You can earn volunteer hours in several ways: 1 hour for each writing submission, bonus hours for completing weekly writing topics, and by working with our team. Hours are tracked automatically and can be verified for school records, with a certificate.
Can I edit my writing after submission?
Yes! You can revise and resubmit your work at any time. Just email us the edited version within 1-2 days after submission.
Can I use my published work for college applications?
Absolutely! Your published works on Quillix can be included in your portfolio and referenced in college applications. Having published work demonstrates initiative, creativity, and writing skills that colleges value.
