• Email Address & Password: Collected only for user account creation and login purposes. Passwords are encrypted and managed by Firebase Authentication.

• User Account Information: We store your unique user ID to authenticate your sessions.

2.2 Reading Session Data.

• Settings Preferences: Your preferred reading speed, display mode (ORP, Bionic, etc.), and feature toggles (ORP highlight, reading pet).

2.3 Usage Analytics

• We do NOT collect personal browsing history or track which websites you visit.

• We do NOT use cookies for tracking purposes.

• We do NOT send your reading data to external servers (all data is stored locally and in Firebase).

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Your information is used to:

• Authenticate your account and verify your identity

• Save and restore your reading sessions

• Persist your preferences and settings

• Provide a seamless reading experience across sessions

• Improve the Extension's functionality

4. DATA STORAGE & SECURITY

4.1 Local Storage

• Reading sessions and preferences are stored in your browser's local storage (Chrome extension storage)

• This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to external servers

4.2 Firebase Cloud Storage

• Authentication credentials are managed by Firebase Authentication (Google)

• Reading session metadata is encrypted and stored securely in Firebase Realtime Database

• Firebase complies with industry-standard security practices and encryption protocols

4.3 Encryption

• All data transmitted between the Extension and Firebase is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols

• Passwords are securely hashed and managed by Firebase's secure authentication system

5. DATA RETENTION

• Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active

• Session Data: Retained indefinitely unless you manually clear your browser's storage or delete your account

• Settings: Retained until you uninstall the Extension or reset your preferences

6. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The Extension uses the following third-party services:

• You can disable any optional features (ORP highlight, reading pet, etc.) in settings

• You can uninstall the Extension at any time

10. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Quicky Reads is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information promptly.

Your data may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where Firebase servers are located. By using this Extension, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence.
