## Data Collection

QuickTranslate collects minimal data necessary for functionality:

### What We Collect:

- **Selected Text**: Temporarily accessed for translation purposes only

- **User Preferences**: Target language preference stored locally

- **Usage Count**: Number of translations per day (for free tier limits)

- **License Key**: For Pro users, stored locally to verify premium access

### What We Do NOT Collect:

- No browsing history

- No personal information

- No website URLs visited

- No search queries

- No login credentials

- No payment information (handled by Gumroad)

## How We Use Data

### Translation Service:

Selected text is sent to MyMemory Translation API (https://mymemory.translated.net) for translation. This data:

- Is transmitted securely via HTTPS

- Is not stored by QuickTranslate

- Is not retained after translation completes

- Is processed according to MyMemory's privacy policy

### Local Storage:

Your preferences and license information are stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. This data:

- Never leaves your device

- Is not accessible to any external servers

- Can be deleted by removing the extension

## Third-Party Services

### MyMemory Translation API:

We use MyMemory Translation API to provide translation services. When you translate text:

- The selected text is sent to their servers

- They process the translation and return results

### Gumroad (Payment Processing):

For Pro subscriptions, payment is processed through Gumroad. We do not:

- Handle payment information directly

- Store credit card data

- Access your payment details

- Share your data for advertising purposes

- Use your data for purposes unrelated to translation

## Children's Privacy

QuickTranslate does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
