Repairing QuickBooks replaces damaged installation files without affecting your data.
Open QuickBooks Desktop.
Attempt to open your company file after the repair process completes.
If QuickBooks still fails to open, proceed to Solution 5.

Download the correct installer for your QuickBooks version.
Keep your license and product numbers ready.
You can retrieve this information from the Customer Account Management Portal if needed.
Step 1: Uninstall QuickBooks
Open the Windows Start menu.
Search for Control Panel and open it.
Select Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
Choose your version of QuickBooks Desktop.
Click Uninstall/Change, then Remove, and select Next.
If the uninstall option is unavailable, sign out and log back in as an administrator.
Step 2: Reinstall QuickBooks

Right-click each folder and select Rename.
Add “old” to the end of each folder name.
Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop.
If You Receive an Access Denied Error
Right-click the Windows Taskbar and open Task Manager.
Go to the Processes tab.
Sort by Name.
End the following processes:
QBDBMgrN.exe
QBDBMgr.exe
QBCFMonitorService.exe
Qbw32.exe
