Apple's notes app on my MacBook Pro, running Monterey (12.0.1 (21A559) doesn't behave like I see it demonstrated. I was hoping that it would allow me to quickly create a new note without having to open the notes app and click on the new note button.

Okay, disappointing for my use case, but I'll try moving any new notes out of the quick notes as I create them, but I will probably stick with Evernote as I just want a quick way to jot down notes as I'm doing other tasks.
