QUEST FOR SUCCESS — PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 11 September 2026
THE SHORT VERSION
Everything you write in this app stays on your phone. There are no accounts and no servers, and the developer has no way to see your tasks, habits, or journal entries. The only time any information leaves your device is if you choose to watch an ad — and that goes to Google, not to the developer.
The sections below say the same thing in more detail.
1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Information you provide to us. None, unless you choose to email us. The app has no account, no sign-in, and no way to send us anything.
Information stored on your device. The app stores your tasks, habits, streak history, gratitude journal entries, gold balance, rewards store items, settings, and a count of how many ads you have chosen to watch. This is held in the app's own storage on your device. It is never transmitted anywhere. There is no server behind this app, so we have no copy of it and no way to read it.
Information collected automatically. None by the app itself. There is no analytics, no usage tracking, and no crash reporting. The only automatic collection happens inside Google's advertising software, and only when you choose to watch an ad — see section 3.
Backups you create. The Settings screen lets you save a backup of everything above, as a file or as text you copy. That backup goes wherever you put it. We never receive it. Because it contains your journal entries, store it somewhere you trust.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: we process almost nothing, because almost nothing reaches us.
Your app data is processed only on your own device, to make the app work. If you email us, we use your email address to reply to you. Watching an ad is processed by Google, not by us; we receive only anonymous totals of how many ads were watched.
3. ADS, AND WHEN INFORMATION IS SHARED
In Short: ads are optional, and are the only time information leaves your device.
The Support screen has an optional "Watch a Short Ad" button. Ads never appear anywhere else in the app, and never appear unless you tap that button.
Ads are provided by Google AdMob. When you choose to watch one, Google may collect:
• Your device's advertising ID
• Your IP address, which gives an approximate location
• Device type and operating system version
• Whether you watched, skipped, or tapped the ad
Google uses this to choose which ads to show and to detect fraud. We receive none of it and receive nothing that identifies you.
See Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Android under Settings › Google › Ads. Doing so does not affect the app.
Watching an ad does not affect your gold, tasks, habits, or anything else in the app. It is purely optional and grants nothing in return.
Business transfers. If the app were ever sold or transferred, information held at that time could transfer with it. In practice there is nothing to transfer, because nothing is held.
Apart from the advertising above, we do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone.
4. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: we keep nothing, so there is nothing to retain.
Your app data stays on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. Uninstalling removes it permanently. We hold no copy and therefore have no retention period. Any data collected by Google through advertising is retained according to Google's own policies, linked in section 3.
5. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: by not collecting it.
The strongest protection here is architectural: your entries never travel over the internet, so they cannot be intercepted, breached on a server, or leaked by us. Data sent to Google during an ad is transmitted over an encrypted connection.
This also means the security of your data depends on your device. If you want it to survive a lost or broken phone, save a backup from the Settings screen.
6. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
In Short: no, and the app is not aimed at children.
Quest for Success is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, please contact us and we will address it.
7. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: you already hold your data, so you can exercise these yourself.
Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information.
Because everything is stored on your device, you can exercise all of these without asking us:
• Access and copy — use "Save Backup File" in Settings
• Correct — edit or delete any entry in the app
• Delete — uninstall the app, or clear its storage in Android settings
There is no account to close and no server-side record for us to remove. If you have questions, contact us at the address in section 11.
8. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature. No uniform standard for recognising DNT signals has been finalised, and we do not respond to DNT browser signals. The app does not track you regardless.
9. US RESIDENTS SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS
If you are a resident of certain US states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah), you may have the right to request access to the personal information we maintain about you, correct inaccuracies, obtain a copy, or delete it. We maintain none, so in practice there is nothing for us to return or delete — see section 7 for how to do each of these yourself.
We have never sold personal information. If you choose to watch an ad, information described in section 3 is shared with Google for advertising purposes, which some US state laws define as "sharing". You can prevent this entirely by not tapping the ad button, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings at any time.
10. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?
In Short: yes, when the app changes what it does.
The updated version will be indicated by a new "Last updated" date at the top. Changes that materially affect how your information is handled will also be noted in the app.
11. HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?
If you have questions or comments about this notice, email croylance0@gmail.com
