Quentin Kriaa
I am an Assistant Professor in Climate and Environmental Fluid Dynamics, jointly in Earth Sciences and DAMTP (Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics) at the University of Cambridge. I explore environmental and geophysical flows primarily through lab experiments, complemented by idealised theoretical and numerical approaches. A lot of my work focuses on multiphase turbulent flows, and how phase change or chemical reactions influence mixing and particle transport. Broadly, my research interests include the dynamics of solidifying planetary cores, storm clouds, microplastic dispersal in the ocean, waves induced by landslides and avalanches, and the physics of ice melting in the polar oceans.
