About the Queertune Festival
About Queertune
Queertune is a choir festival for the Nordic LGBTQ+ choirs.
The first festival was held in Helsinki in 2017. The second one took place in Stockholm in 2019. The third Queertune festival will take place from 6-8 June 2025 in Copenhagen.
Vision
Queertune has a strong vision of sharing the joy of song between the participating choirs as well as with a public audience.
We wish to strengthen the ties between the Nordic countries’ music cultures, and to show that music in the LGBTQ+ community is diverse and has the potential to touch, strengthen and unite.
In addition to the choir concerts, the festival will encompass other events that will be open to both the participating choirs as well as a public audience.
Behind Queertune Copenhagen
The Queertune Copenhagen festival committee has representatives from four LGBTQ+ choirs in the Copenhagen metropolitan area:
Carmen Curlers, Cor Cantus, De Homofone and Queer Qhoir Qopenhagen.
Queertune Copenhagen will welcome around 20 LGBTQ+ choirs - or 400 to 500 singers - from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland.
Festival Fee
The fee for registration of participating choirs is DKK 200.
The fee for participating choir members is DKK 200 per person.
Accompanying guests travelling with the choirs are exempt from this participation fee.
Admission to the concerts is free.
