Come for Paddling, Stay for Community.
Queer, Queerish, Queer&, Queer+ humans in Northern Colorado who love paddling and love the river.
We are a Northern Colorado (Arapahoe, Cheyenne, Ute, Ochethi Sakowin land) based paddling and community group, inviting queer folks and allies who are committed to upholding safe space abd welcoming all bodies and genders on the water. We value creating community just as much as we love the river.
We are people who love to paddle and want to share what we enjoy with others.
We are a small group of queer river lovers who kayak, raft, canoe, and otherwise float the Poudre River, as well as offer as roll clinics, paddling events, and more. Check out our Events Page for paddling trips, flatwater and whitewater canoe training and safety classes, social events, and more.
Mads
Heyo! I’m Mads (they/them), one of the co-founders of QPP. I started white water kayaking 10 years ago in upstate NY before moving to CO and settling down with the beautiful Poudre river . I love being gay in nature and can’t wait to paddle with you.
Burgundy
Hello! I’m Burgundy (they/she). You’ll find me behind the scenes of QPP, doing all things planning and marketing, and at paddling events, learning more about whitewater paddling. I started various paddling sports at an early age and have taught learners of all ages about paddling basics and safety. I can’t wait to get on the river with you all in QPP.
Tanner
Hi! I'm Tanner (he/him). My first time kayaking was with a community kayaking club in Madison, WI, and I loved having a safe and supportive place to start out and get better at kayaking. I eventually became an instructor with the club and want to continue sharing the sport with you in QPP.
Queer+ Bikes
Our parent organization and inspiration for QPP, a Northern Colorado (Arapaho, Cheyenne, Ute, and Ochethi Sakowin territories) based cycling and community group, inviting queer folks and allies who are committed to upholding safe space and welcoming all bodies, experiences, and genders on bikes! We value creating community just as much as we love riding bikes.
The Lavender Guild
A Northern Colorado-based, mutual aid driven, exclusively LGBTQIA2S+ community. We are an intentional, sober space offering free meetups, skill shares, and local support networks to build resilience and collective power within our queer community.
Diversify Whitewater
Promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in paddlesports by removing the barriers for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and allies in kayaking, canoeing, rafting, and stand-up paddle boarding.
