Olive Okoro (she/they) is the founder of Queer Motherland. Olive is a lesbian Nigerian immigrant who founded the nonprofit due to the lack of representation and educational materials given to the advocacy towards queer Africans across the diaspora. She holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in economics with a minor in Sociology. She is a content creator who uses her platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, financial literacy, human rights and all people from all walks of life. Olive uses her platform to build the Queer Motherland name and spread the message for all queer Africans to know that they are loved and that there is a community dedicated to aiding each other. 

Gabrielle Woodward (she/her) is the Board Secretary for Queer Motherland and the Director of Partnerships. She is currently studying a dual degree - Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and a Bachelor of Economics majoring in Economics of  Strategy and behavior. She is passionate about building a more equitable society and believes that strong communities are built through collaboration, representation and access to opportunities. As director of Community Strategy and Partnerships, Gabi works to strengthen partnerships, support strategic initiatives and help expand the organizations impact. Outside of her work, Gabi enjoys exploring finance and economics, staying active and learning about the intersection of policy, community and social impact.
