A: The focus of this event is to create a safe space for queer people in Morris to come together, be creative, connect across the community, and celebrate queerness in Morris. Anyone who would like to create safe space for queer people, be creative, and celebrate queerness in Morris is welcome.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: This is a free event open to the public. We suggest bringing a high quality face mask, a lawn chair, crafts you would like to do & share with others, and a willingness to meet new people. 

Q: What will happen if I do not wear a high quality mask to Morris Pride 2026? 

A: Our committee will not comment on your choice to wear a mask or not unless you prompt a conversation about it with us. You will be provided with multiple high quality mask options from Mask Up Morris upon your arrival. We invite people to try something new and practice being uncomfortable in order to make our event safer for others. 

Q: Why is Morris Pride 2026 a masks encouraged event? 

A: COVID is still harmful. Scientists are learning more about the COVID virus every day. Current research informs us that: COVID is capable of violently harming the body, the chance of harm increases with each new infection, COVID, like smoke, travels through the air, most current COVID infections are asymptomatic.
Masks Work! Other research shows that high filtrating, well fitting masks decrease the chance of transmitting and catching COVID (and many other viral infections) significantly! Masks, along with air filters, can and are reducing the amount of viral aerosols in the air.
We take care of us! Much like LGBTQIA2S+ leaders that stood against the status quo, Disability Justice leaders are calling attention to the importance of masking and protecting our communities from COVID-19 and its long lasting effects.

Mask wearing is practicing Disability Justice values by hearing the call from the disability community and requiring and providing masks.
