Every Dish Tells a Story!
Welcome to the First-Year Off-Campus Community Cultural Cooking Workshops! Dive into a culinary journey each month as we explore diverse recipes from around the globe, collaborating with Queen's University's vibrant cultural clubs and alumni.
Our virtual and in-person workshops offer a rich blend of flavors and history, teaching you not just how to make delicious dishes at home, but also the cultural significance behind each one. Join us in this unique opportunity to connect, create, and discover the stories that make each recipe special. Let's cook, learn, and taste the world together!
Why Do We Do This?
Many first-year students living off-campus are cooking for themselves for the first time, while also often find it challenging to forge a sense of community and make friends. To support them, we launched the "Cultural Cooking Workshop" series, collaborating with various cultural clubs on campus every month. Our aim is to familiarize students with a variety of culinary traditions by exploring dishes, sharing their historical backgrounds, and teaching the recipes. Additionally, we aim to introduce them to a variety of clubs they can get involved with to help them find a community and build connections!
